I commend you for looking for red flags, but there are NONE there for niacin. It's one of those hidden cures where the pharmas use it basted in petroleum products, patent it, and call it their own (statins). I've coached maybe 100 people personally (including some here and my 15 year old 80 lb dog) that have benefited greatly from high dose niacin. Again, the bottom line is massive reductions in inflammation. The benefits of that alone are enough to raise pharam's red flags. Less inflammation = less health issues. That's an indisputable fact.
As for feeling the flush, you will always feel the flush and it's never exactly comfortable. It's akin to eating a lot of capsicums in a way. It's always gonna burn. I, personally, have never "craved" a flush. I just embrace it.

Niacin interacts with VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID)
Taking niacin with vitamin C and other antioxidants can decrease the effects of niacin on good cholesterol levels. It is unknown if vitamin C alone decreases the effects of niacin on good cholesterol levels.

I tried it several times and couldn’t deal with the flush. I get the same flush with 50mg as I did with 500 but the 50 doesn’t last as long. Neither reached my toes. It went to my ankles with the 500mg and stopped. It was 100X worse than the hot flashes and night sweats in my 50’s.😁
Being a natural redhead, the flush was very obvious, and painful. I only flushed on my face, neck, arms, and legs but it was awful. I’m very happy that it helps some but I’m a wuss when it comes to the intense flush. It’s not something I want to repeat.

Begs some questions:
1. If you flush but it isn’t a full-body flush, do you increase the dose to have a full-body flush?
2. Is there a flush that is just right amount of flush; a minimum flush you experience every time that says, ‘It’s working.’?
3. Is there, then, a point [dose] that you use on a regimen or schedule to maintain that “sweet spot”.
This all comes back to the blood-serum level I asked of (and was answered) earlier.
Also, I have noted that nicotinic acid is not as expensive as other health supplements.
The 250mg capsules run, on average, $15/100.
I’m quite careful of my co-morbidities when taking supplements.
I’d have to assess my supplement + pharma regimens as I move forward.
Specifically my statins and mellitis meds.

It is unclear whether they mean taking vit C & other antioxidants at the same time as one takes the niacin, or whether one should not take C and other anti-oxidants at all if one is taking niacin.
It also is unclear just what they mean by “other antioxidants”. Do they mean all other antioxidants or just some, or maybe they just don’t know.
For example, I also take trans-Pterostilbene. It is a stilbenoid, but is marketed as “antioxidant support”.
Or QH-PQQ, which is a dual anti-oxidant support for energy and cardiac support.

My memory may be incomplete, but I recall that at the end of the last (Prosecution) House witness the House Lawyer Said “I Rest” instead of “Pass the witness”.
That led to the extensive (approach the bench) conference. They (House) still had over 2 hours left on their “clock” as of this morning. Perhaps, that is why Olson never testified.
Tis an interdasting kettle of fish.
