I’m use organic coconut oil to fry my pancakes. The enhanced flavor is incredible. Other than that I hardly ever use it.

My understanding is that coconut oil was the oil of choice for movie-theater popcorn... and that’s why it tasted so good. Not sure if they still use it.

Canola & soybean oils are crap, and anything fried in them tastes pretty lousy, IMO.

The “natives” that ingest it daily where it is harvested are not fat.

Maybe should have tested it on native Hawaiian mice?

There’s one fact that a lot of people and dietitians don’t really talk about much... a calorie is a calorie is a calorie.

You want to lose weight? Figure out your target caloric intake, ditch the junk food and empty calories (devoid of nutritional value), exercise, walk, and stick with it. All this other crap is fantasy or hucksterism.

You know all that fancy exercise equipment you can buy? Just get a pair of tennis shoes and save a bunch of money.

It’s that simple.

Yep, the whole "coconut oil is bad" thing came from the seed oil companies. So the popcorn in movies wasn't as good. Another health scare to make money. Again.

I don't know if they went back to coconut oil or not. Haven't been to a theater for decades. But, I use it for my own popcorn.

My understanding, the main reason they used Coconut oil in movie theaters, was because of “shelf life”, they could pop up acres of corn and it would stay crisp and light for several days. I would say this seems to hold true.

Day old popcorn with the seed oils, especially Crisco, is inedible. Bacon grease is real good for popping corn as well, and I use it for biscuits, cornbread - and for Cookies too. Saves on Butter, which is getting expensive as everyone knows. Coconut oil is pretty high also.

Vegetable oils though generally oxidize and turn rancid fairly quickly. Animal fats don’t do this generally. I don’t how true it is, but I read Canola or Canada Oil (Rapeseed) was basically a derivative of the paint industry. It definitely gives off strong varnish odors when it turns bad.

The problem with vitamins is that no one knows what moderation actually is.

Take Vitamin D3 for instance. Taken in “moderation” certain respiratory symptoms persist although diminished. When the dosage is increased, the problems disappear. The higher level is seen by many as gross excess even though the moderate dose is inadequate.

The fact is that those opposing the large dosage are simply ignorant even though they are medical professionals.

The same is true with B12. The benefits of a large dose are overwhelmingly significant even though cautioned

The fact is, there is no knowledge of what is vitamin moderation

The one thing they don’t stress, simple is not always easy. I think a lot of money is made by.confusing people.
