There are parts of the house I like but there is just to much variation in the different rooms. Dark wood, light wood, all white for kitchen & living/sitting area. I would be spending most of my time out on the patios.

I must confess though. I do have Oak Laminate Wood in my kitchen, dining, great room. That is ONLY because they are completely open to each other. It would not have looked nice to have them split into tile & carpet.

I thought some of the areas were a little too much as well. The one bathroom, IIRC had so many things going on.....it was just a little over-the-top.

In general, it seemed quite pretty and had a relaxed and inviting feel to it, especially the outdoor areas.

I also don’t like when large areas are chopped up when they shouldn’t be. When we purchased the last home, the owner were absolutely nuts with the paint colors. The kitchen, which continued down a hallway, was chopped up where the hallway started. Brilliant robin’s egg blue (kitchen) was halted where the hallway started, and a dark dusty pink was used for the hallway! Just like that....bam! Right on the one flat wall lol. The laundry room was such a bright canary yellow that it burned my retinas.

Needless to say, the whole place was painted immediately with two different tones of a nice soothing, soft caramel color. Then it went up for sale, and it had to be modernized to sell. The whole house was painted white. Every room. White. The pics looked nice, but it was so sterile and boring to live in for a couple of months. Oh, and white carpet as well, in the bedrooms.

I agree, it looks bigger and more impressive with the same flooring. And isn’t laminate fairly waterproof? It’s at least a whole bunch better than real wood.
