To those don’t remember or never knew the Congressional impeachment process:
Step 1: A resolution to impeach the President MUST pass a vote on the House floor. This already happened.
Step 2: the impeachment resolution is sent to committees to be investigated.
Step 3: once the committees finish their investigations, if cause was found to proceed, they alert the House Speaker, who then initiated an impeachment inquiry. (You are here)
Step 4: If after inquiry and floor debate if the majority of the House members vote to proceed, the drafting of specific Articles of Impeachment begins.
Step 5: A floor vote takes place in the House for each Article of Impeachment. If 1 or more articles pass, the President has been impeached.
Step 6: the impeachment of the President in the House triggers a trial in the Senate, which looks at evidence from prosecutors and defense lawyers before voting as to removing the President from office.

A MESSAGE TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF TEXAS:
No Attorney General in the United States has done more to fight for us against the corrupt Biden Administration than Ken Paxton.
Not only does Paxton have a historic record of suing the Biden regime for its radical, extreme, lawless edicts but he has a historic track record of winning — enjoining one unconstitutional and unlawful policy after another.
In short, Ken Paxton is the rule of law’s best friend — and the lawless left’s worst legal nightmare.
Given how much contempt the Radical Left and Ruling Class have for rules, norms, laws, truth or justice it should come as no surprise that they have engineered an impeachment against Paxton to remove Biden’s opponent from the chess board.
The Administration in power wants Ken out of the Attorney General’s office. It’s just that simple.
And the Liberal Democrats and Liberal Republicans in the Texas State Legislature are all to eager too join forces in doing Joe Biden’s dirty work for him: voiding the overwhelming vote Paxton received in the last election. They want to use an unjust, scurrilous and outrageous impeachment to silence the voice and values of the people of Texas.
They hate Democracy.
The bogus allegations now being re-litigated (and debunked) in this impeachment were all brought to the voters before Paxton’s massive reelection victory and were all rejected by the wise voters of Texas.
By what right to the most liberal members of the Texas legislature now conspire to remove from office the very man Texas voters just installed in that office?
Nothing would make the Texas-hating radicals in the current Administration happier than taking your bold, determined and courageous Texas Attorney General away from you.
The man who has been battling for you against open borders, human trafficking, assaults against your sacred first and second amendment rights, Big Tech tyranny, dictatorial regulation, and every other threat to your freedom.
So the choice, Texas, is simple. And it is binary.
Do you stand with Ken Paxton or Joe Biden?
Do you side with the Constitution or the Radical Left?
Do you fight to regain your borders or help ensure their absolute erasure?
Tell your members in the Texas Senate to stop a grievous wrong and to stand with Ken Paxton, to stand with Texas, and to protect your families and your children from the lawless and authoritarian administration now reigning in Washington DC.

American loss at the Battle of Brandywine
On this day in history, September 11, 1777, the American loss at the Battle of Brandywine opens the door for the British to take the American capital, Philadelphia. British General William Howe landed 17,000 troops at Head of Elk, Maryland in late August to capture Philadelphia.

George Washington and the Continental Army were camped between the British and Philadelphia. For two weeks, the two armies maneuvered around one another, with only minor skirmishes taking place. As the British army began moving north, Washington made his stand at Chadd’s Ford over the Brandywine Creek on the “Great Road” from Baltimore to Philadelphia.

Washington placed troops at all the fords from Pyle’s Ford below Chadd’s Ford, to Wistar’s Ford north of Chadd’s Ford. Washington had covered all the main crossings for several miles up and down the creek and believed this would force the British to cross at Chadd’s Ford, which was the best defensible position. Unfortunately, Washington’s intelligence of the area was not as good as Howe’s.
General Howe’s troops gathered at Kennett Square and, early on the morning of September 11th, rather than sending his entire force to fight the Continentals at Chadd’s Ford, he split his army in two and sent only 5,000 men to the ford. The rest of Howe’s army marched north under Lieutenant General Charles Cornwallis and crossed further up the creek at fords Washington was unaware of, then marched south upon Washington’s right flank.
The fighting began on the approach to Chadd’s Ford when the Americans opened fire on the British. The British soldiers took cover on the grounds of a Quaker meetinghouse, while a church service was underway inside. The fighting began mid-morning and the British eventually pushed the Americans back beyond the ford.
The great surprise took place, however, when Cornwallis’ army fell on the right flank at about 2pm. The Americans were completely surprised and quickly took many casualties. Generals John Sullivan, Adam Stephens and William Alexander quickly repositioned their troops and held off the British for a few hours, while the rest of the army began a retreat. By 4pm, Washington and General Nathanael Greene arrived with reinforcements.
As darkness approached, Greene placed the troops of General George Weedon at Dilworth to block the British from advancing. This allowed the rest of the army to retreat to safety, most of whom arrived at Chester by midnight.
The Battle of Brandywine was a great loss for the Americans, but the Continental Army soldiers were not discouraged after the battle, even though they suffered more than 1,000 dead and wounded. Washington wrote to Congress that his army had survived to fight another day. For the next two weeks the armies continued to maneuver around one another, but on September 26, General Howe marched into Philadelphia unopposed. Congress had fled to York and Philadelphia would be occupied for the next 9 months.
