Last night Cap Police put up bike racks bc of expected Pro Palestinian protest today and Intel that members of congress will be targeted.

They told us to stay inside and only use the underground tunnels.

If the current savage muslim imbroglio in the mid-east seems a bit familiar to some there are good reasons for it:

• Vicious muslim crazies running amok in the mideast
• Mass killing of civilians and hostage taking by the muslims
• American citizens caught in the middle hoping for rescue
• An inept democrat bungler as US President
• The federal government seemingly unable to act in their inerest

There's a lot of similarity to the the militant muslim uprising and coup in Iran in 1978-1979.

How many recall Ross Perot and his successful rescue of hostages from Iran in 1979?

The rescue was a totally non-government civilian operation, conceived, financed and carried out by Ross Perot.
(maybe that's why it was successful)

It happened in the Jimmy Carter era when Iranian militants took 66 Americans hostages and held most of them for 444 days.
They were finally released when republican Ronald Regan was elected President to replace the inept democrat Jimmy Carter.

Ross Perot was a graduate of the US Naval Academy, serving as an officer in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957.
He was a brilliant, action oriented "Can Do" man who later became a a successful computer salesman at IBM.
He went on from IBM to found his own company, Electronic Data Systems, known as EDS.
His company was very successful and made him a multi-multi-millionaire.
(One million 1978 dollars is equal to almost $5 million 2023 dollars today)

When the Iranian crisis came about in 1978-1979 EDS had about 130 employees in country completing work on an Iranian government contract.
Ross brought most them out of Iran when it became obvious serious trouble was brewing but left a few key people there to complete the work.

Rioting Iranian militants ousted the Shah of Iran and his monarchy, overthrew the government and declared Iran to be an Islamic Republic.

They began taking Americans hostage including two of Perot's EDS employees.
He tried to get them released through diplomatic channels but the US federal government was ineffectual.
Ross offered to pay bail to the Iranians (really ransom) for the release of his emplyees but was refused..

So he formed his own rescue team who trained, developed a plan, infiltrated into Iran and were able to successfully rescue his employees.

To me it is an inspiring true life story of Americans at their best in the face of terror, an inept US government and seemingly insurmountable odds .

There is a book entitled "On The Wings Of Eagles" about the rescue and there was also a TV mini-series about it.

- Jim is elected by members and accountable to members from very diverse districts, so coercion and intimidation is not a good idea;

- Before you coronate Jim please assess if he was effective for you or for McCarthy as Judiciary Chair.

Wow. There’s no difference between listening to Biden and doing that weekly visit to the nursing home.
