Cohen said that Trump told him when he becomes President again he is going to rewrite the Constitution.

News: McCarthy supporters currently plan to nominate him at top of speaker elex + vote for him as long as possible, to deny Scalise + Jordan enough votes for some time.
Rs involved expect 60 to 80 Rs at this pt to vote for McCarthy initially, if he’s nominated as planned

Duarte and Reps. Carlos Gimenez and John Rutherford of Florida made their plans clear during a closed-door House GOP conference meeting Monday night, according to 3 GOP lawmakers
Rutherford in particular said he’s prepared to hold out for a long time

John Rutherford said in House GOP closed-door meeting tonight that McCarthy should be reinstated, + he’s ready to vote for him over + over
Duarte + Gimenez raised strong support for McCarthy - tho ppl familiar say they’ll likely vote for another if McCarthy is no longer viable
But supporters of longshot push to reinstall McCarthy know no one, incl him, has enough votes
“I’d be surprised if we end up with either [Scalise or Jordan],” a House R told me. “Both have a ceiling. But I’d say Jordan now has a clearer path - not clear but clearer.”

Many McCarthy supporters haven’t received any specific instructions from the former speaker, including any direction to stop their effort and throw their support behind Jordan, but they have been back-channeling through Garret Graves (R-La.) + Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.)

The 60 to 80 Republicans who plan to support Kevin McCarthy for speaker are obstructionists hellbent on derailing the House speaker elections.
This isn’t a time to delay processes that prevent us from getting to the business of the American people.
It show how deep the RINO bench is in the House and how many reps need to be replaced, 60-80.

No DC cartel speaker! You can’t replace Kevin McCarthy with a just as bad Steve Scalise. That changes nothing. All of the effort in January & in the last week by the mighty House conservatives to bring real change will be for naught. Vote no on the floor! Break the cartel.

I will be voting for Jim Jordan to be Speaker of the House on the floor when the vote is called.
In conference, Jordan received 99 votes and Scalise received 113.
We had a chance to unify the party behind closed doors, but the Swamp and K Street lobbyists prevented that.
The American people deserve a real change in leadership, not a continuation of the status quo.
