Today was an eventful day.

A conference call with military and government officials. The frontline. Our offensive actions. The result of our weapons, new Ukrainian weapons, is 700 kilometers. The task is farther.

The important news for the frontline is that we have agreed on the supply of armored medevac vehicles to Ukraine, a large batch. This is what the warriors told me about when we visited combat brigades. The Ministry of Defense has reported on this today.

As always on the conference calls, there were intelligence reports from the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Foreign Intelligence Service on the plans of the occupiers. Their plans are hopeless.

I held a meeting about next week’s international events. There will be significant things. Important negotiations for Ukraine.

Another meeting concerned tomorrow. It will be September 1, the beginning of the new school year. Deputy Prime Minister Fedorov and Minister Lisovyi, together with their teams, are preparing a very positive innovation for our schoolchildren, parents, and teachers. Something that will really help. Tomorrow we will present the first details.

Today I congratulated Kyiv Polytechnic on the 125th anniversary of the university. It was extremely pleasant and useful to communicate with students and lecturers. Education will always remain the element that gives strength to people and the state, that enables us to develop and become stronger no matter what. And I would like to thank today our students and lecturers, our educators who not only receive or help receive education, but also make the educational process as practical as it is needed right now, when the bright minds of our people help the Ukrainian defense, in particular. Our students have good projects, powerful projects. The Ministry of Strategic Industry has something to implement.

And one more thing.

I had a meeting with representatives of BAE Systems. The world knows this company very well. And our warriors are already very familiar with the weapons produced by this company. In particular, artillery - L119 and M777, armored vehicles - CV90, which are very powerful. The company is starting to work in Ukraine. Our goal is to have all the most useful weapons for defense produced in Ukraine. And it will happen. We already produce certain items, and we will produce all the necessary ones. I thank everyone in the world who helps!

The war between Ukraine and Russia has centered the world’s attention on an unprecedented world of modern warfare where old and new technology clash in a rapidly changing environment. It has forced both sides to use weapons and vehicles that had not been battle tested or were designed with a different purpose in mind.

As the conflict rages on, it has been shown that Russian forces have had to adapt to these conditions in creative ways. Their battlefield gear looks more like a ragtag collection of oddities than a formidable military arsenal. From makeshift cages perched atop tank turrets to dodge missile strikes to videos of Russian fighters wielding rusty relics for rifles and even naval guns welded onto ancient military tractors to create bizarre Frankenstein-esque tanks - Russian troops are scraping the bottom of the barrel to find creative solutions to their equipment shortage.

But even when the Russian forces have the right tools for the job, they often go haywire in the most spectacular fashion. In a recently released video, Russian troops can be seen firing what appears to be an SA-17 missile system near the occupied Ukrainian city of Alchevsk. With a booming roar, the missile shoots into the sky, only to make a hairpin turn and hurtle back toward its origin like a lethal boomerang. Time stands still for a heart-stopping moment before the rogue missile dives back into its own launcher. This catastrophic malfunction has left military experts scratching their heads…

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have generally stabilized on the frontlines over the last week. Russian invaders have been distracted as they lose equipment and troops. And every time Ukrainian fighters saw Russian weakness, they pressed harder. For a long time now, Ukrainian fighters have been conducting specific operations on the southern front. The current focus of Ukrainian forces is to reach the Azov coast completely. They are taking firm steps towards it. Recently, Robotyne and Urozhaine were successfully liberated.

Since certain areas are key to each other, their liberation signaled the beginning of a nightmare for the Russian invaders. The spectacular gains in this area have given the Ukrainian fighters a huge morale boost and opened the door to a new offensive. Now the Ukrainians have a few tough challenges ahead to make these gains truly effective. With the complete liberation of Robotyne and Urozhaine, Ukraine has broken through the 1st main Russian defense line. It has been a long and difficult journey as the First Line of Defense is a very large area in terms of distance. However, as you can imagine, the military density in such a large area was not very high.

Now Ukraine is advancing to the second Russian defense line and managing to get behind the Russian troops. However, although this defense line is shorter, there is a much more intense defense. There are elite units of the Russian army, as well as heavily mined terrain and dragon-toothed defenses. Nevertheless, with ingenious tactics, Ukrainian forces are pushing Tavria and Tokhmak, the flanks of the Russian second line of defense, and achieving serious successes. After intense fighting on the Tavria axis in recent weeks, it has been quiet for some time.

Last night, Ukrainian fighters unexpectedly caught the enemy by surprise and launched a major offensive. The Ukrainian fighters’ fire was so intense that in total 300 Russian soldiers were killed. During the fighting, the Russian invaders tried to fight back, but the Ukrainian fighters did not allow them to do so. Despite all their efforts, the enemy suffered huge losses. As a result of these attacks, the enemy military lost 5 ammunition depots. The Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces announced that Ukrainian fighters crushed the enemy like a bulldozer. After the attack, the exhausted enemy tried to escape.

Our Ukrainian fighters, full of energy and high spirits, did not allow the enemy to listen and launched a major offensive, this time in the direction of Melitopol. The offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol has been going on for some time. However, late yesterday Ukrainian fighters increased the intensity of the attack. Ukrainian fighters consolidated on the captured lines and took counter-battery measures. Over the past day, the Russians launched 33 air strikes on our fighters in this area. In total, there were 19 combat clashes with the enemy. After some time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the first line of defense, consisting of fortifications and minefields in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian troops are advancing in the direction of Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Now Robotyne is left behind. Oleksandr Shtupun, head of the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tauride Sector, made some statements about the gains. Our troops advanced in the areas of Urozhayne, Robotyne, and also achieved success in the directions of Melitopol and Berdiansk. Our troops are advancing from Staromayorske to Novoprokopivka, from Robotyne to Mala Tokmachka and Ocheretuvat. The most active hostilities are in the directions of Avdiivka and Marinka. But the Russians are being defeated. At the same time, the enemy is holding active defense positions near Robotyne and patching their holes there, mostly with personnel. In the last 24 hours alone, our troops have captured 17 invaders.

The enemy has strengthened its aviation component. But this shows that other firearms can no longer stop the advance of our troops. Nearly a hundred Russian soldiers are killed every day in the Taurus direction. Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 32 pieces of military equipment, as well as 11 ammunition depots in this sector of the front. As a team of Ukrainian soldiers advanced through the area, they almost collided with a group of Russian soldiers trying to break through the deep vegetation. In the end, the Ukrainians moved faster. And once again the enemy suffered a heavy defeat. After these terrible losses, the Russian General Staff is sending the last available reserve units into battle to stop the Ukrainian army’s offensive.

BACKGROUND:
On 28 August, European Council President Charles Michel said at a forum in the Slovenian resort town of Bled that the European Union should be ready to accept new member states by 2030.

In front of the assembled leaders, he stressed that EU enlargement is and will remain a merit-based process, as EU membership carries both responsibilities and benefits.

The European Commission, however, did not support the call to prepare for EU enlargement by a specific year.

Stoltenberg believes that the Ukrainians have to be assisted with advice and support, “but at the end of the day, it has to be the Ukrainians, their commanders on the battlefield that are making those difficult and tough decisions”.

He also added that advanced air defence systems, supplied to Ukraine by NATO allies, “which are proven extremely effective”.

Stoltenberg said that “Ukrainians are very skillful in operating these systems”, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and long-range cruise missiles.

Soldier with 40 fragments of Russian mine stuck in his body treated in Lviv

A 36-year old Ukrainian soldier who got severely injured in the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast is undergoing treatment in the city of Lviv in the west of Ukraine.

Forty mine fragments got stuck in his body, but he miraculously survived.

Pavlo Pastukh from Lviv Oblast was working abroad before the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, but after 24 February 2022 decided to come back and defend his homeland.

In January during heavy fighting near Bakhmut a few Ukrainian soldiers got injured. Pavlo and his two fellow soldiers wanted to help. When they got to one of the injured soldiers, they hit a mine. Everyone but Pavlo died in the explosion.

Medics recall that the mine fragments almost went right through Pavlo’s body, even his lungs. His legs, arms, stomach and internal organs were torn. Yet he put compression bandages on his own wounds and headed towards the Ukrainian positions.

“The Russians were trying to finish our defender off while he was on his way. A drone was following him and adjusting the fire of the Russians, yet none of the Russian mines struck the target. Fellow soldiers from a neighbouring position, Nimets [‘German’] and Doc, helped the soldier with 40 fragments stuck in his body,” the medics from the First Medical Union write.

After that, medics in five different settlements fought for Pavlo’s life: Chesiv Yar, Druzhkivka, Dnipro, Kyiv and finally in Lviv.

PAVLO’S REHABILITATION PROCESS

Surgeons from Lviv have removed mine fragments from Pavlo’s left shoulder and right leg after the diagnostics. Yet they had to leave two fragments in his liver since it is too dangerous to remove them now.

“At the moment they [fragments – ed.] are not moving and are harmless for the patient, but require observation,” the medics add.

A 50-year old soldier Dmytro Yarmolchuk who managed to get out of a burning combat vehicle before it exploded during a Russian attack is also undergoing rehabilitation in Lviv.

Saved by the Lord, by the brothers and doctors of five cities. A 36-year-old warrior, in whose body was stuck 40 fragments from an enemy mine and who miraculously survived, are treated by specialists of the National Rehabilitation Center UNBROKEN (UNBROKEN) ⚡️.

Paul Shepherd from Lviv region. Before the full-scale invasion worked abroad. A great war has just begun, the man decided he should come back and defend the country. Yes and did. Since then, there was an enemy in the Donetsk direction, where in the Bakhmut area in late January and was seriously injured.

Paul recalls: that morning they were very close to the Russians. Stuck in a close fight.

Several of our warriors were immediately injured. Paul together with two brothers throws them out. Exactly got one injured - like nearby vlučaê mine. Everyone dies except Paul. He’s about to pass out. And when it comes to tâmi, the first thing feels is hard to breathe. Mine fragments penetrated almost everywhere - even the defender’s lung ни. On the way, the enemy tried to kill our defender.

He was chased by a drone and corrected the fire. And none of the Russian mines hit the target. To get out of the trap of a raped warrior with 40 shards in his body was helped by two pseudo brothers “German” and “Doc” - from a nearby position. Paul says that all their lives he will be in front of them in unpaid debt. And further for his life fought doctors all the way in five cities: юasovomu yara, družkívcí, dnipro, Kyiv and finally - lviv.

When Paul got to the Center of UNBREAKABLE, his body still has a lot of enemy iron left. Following the diagnosis, our surgeons removed the fragments of the mine from the patient’s left shoulder and right leg. However, two fractures in the liver, each of which 2️⃣ cm each, remained. They penetrated 10 cm deep and stopped near the medium liver vein. Surgeons believe removing these debris is now too dangerous. They are currently not moving, are not life threatening to the patient, but need monitoring.

Now Pavlo is undergoing rehabilitation. Together with our physical therapists train endurance of the muscles of the legs and back. The defender is convinced that on the battlefield, where many of his brothers bowed their heads, he was saved by the Son of God. Because it was Jesus he then prayed for salvation. And now faith also gives Paul the strength to fight on.
