"Boulder to Birmingham" is a song written by Emmylou Harris and Bill Danoff which first appeared on Harris's 1975 album Pieces of the Sky. It has served as something of a signature tune for the artist and recounts her feelings of grief in the years following the death of country rock star and mentor Gram Parsons. Early in her career, Harris toured with Gram Parsons and sang on his two solo albums.

My Favs
That’s a good one
I saw her in concert in New Orleans in...let me see: 1980? 1981? She had such a delicate voice; not necessarily soft, but almost whimsical. She put on a great show. She had had a relationship with Gram Parsons back in the early 1970s (he died in 1973), and she dedicated a song or two to him.
That said, every time I've heard her speak on televised interviews and such, it was if "nobody was home". Dull normal?

I saw her in Chicago in a wonderful small fancy setting. I will never forget it! REAL TALENT!!
Emmylou did some great duets with Gram Parsons. On September 19th it will be 50 years since he died.

Ditto on talent.
Saw her perform at Boise State in 1982....quite the command performance! Her voice was pure and the band was tight.
Gram Parsons was from here (Winter Haven).
Derry Down is a few blocks from my home.
