The Van Allen Belts are low-level radiation only. Who told you they were microwave ovens? It wasn’t NASA. The most intense parts will give you about 1 rem per hour. It takes about 100 rems to make a person sick, and it took only a couple hours for the Apollo craft to cross.

Since getting to the moon is impossible, NASA wouldn’t be worried in the least about the Russians doing it.
agnostic. on moon landings... I don’t think I have the educational background that would allow me to judge whether the moon landings. I do believe that the government lies all the time.
