The guy that wrote that article had his head up his fourth point of contact.

He made comment about the color of the soil (brown)... as I remember, the soil there is predominantly red, due to the iron content.

Cars parked all askew - consistent with people bailing out and abandoning their cars while trying to flee.

I saw a comment about why some boats burned out in the water. Well, if they caught fire pierside (not necessarily embers, could have been radiant heat), it’s a good bet that their mooring lines burned through and they went adrift.

Why didn’t some trees burn? Covered by others above.

He did an addendum that alluded to the whole thing being a fake. - Yeah, I don’t think so.
