Also, I thought Mars had no magnetic field to speak of. Wouldn't a 'sloshing molten core' generate one?

I thought Mars had no magnetic field to speak of. Wouldn't a 'sloshing molten core' generate one? It depends on how big it is and what it is composed of. Earth is believed to have a solid iron-nickel inner core surrounded by a molten iron-nickel outer core. Mars could have a molten magma core.
