Johnny River's remake of the Four Tops classic, "Baby, I Need Your Loving" is dorky. Sounds like he's trying to imitate Buddy Holly trying to imitate Bobby Vee.
Blue Swede's remake of BJ Thomas's "Hooked On a Feeling" (hooka-chukka! hooka chukka!) makes my ears bleed.

Why doesn’t anyone remake Su Su Sudio?
Oh yeah. Sorry.

The entire Pat Boone album “In a Metal Mood.” Omigosh, I didn’t know that existed. I listened to some snippets. That’s really horrible.
My sister and I used to keep a couple of “off” albums in our collections to spring on people at parties for devious fun, like the Brady Bunch album.
This would have been perfect.

Any white person covering a Motown song is usually cringe-worthy.

I love the William Shatner songs and videos. You can tell he was having major fun doing those.

The Thin Lizzy version is great. Very bluesy. I alarm like Metallica’s version, which surprises me.

Definitely a great one. Put them on the map. But really it’s a tie with The Who’s.

The entire Live at Leeds album was great. That version of Magic Bus was classic.

Yeah. Every version of that album. It just gets better when it gets longer. But the first version was a well picked set of songs.

Agreed. Michael McDonald has done a few albums of them. Some are listenable but most are indeed cringeworthy.

The Who also did a great cover of The Guess Who’s “Shakin’ All Over”. And of course “Young Man Blues” was a Mose Allison cover.

The Beatles version of Money (That’s what I want) was pretty awful. The Stones didn’t do it any service either.
