NEW: Students seen jumping out of windows at the University of North Carolina after a gunman started shooting on campus.
A person of interest in the shooting has been identified as Tailei Qi, a PHD student.
Before coming to the United States, Qi ironically studied at Wuhan University where he graduated.
“I would have never guessed that he would be the kind of person who’d could possibly be capable of this kind of thing. He was always very quiet,” said a friend.

Got my generators cranked and running this morning. About to go get some more fuel and supplies. I’ll be riding out the storm here like I did with cat 5 hurricane Michael.
I have too many rescues to leave. I’m 20 miles off the gulf and my house, stable, barn, and outbuildings all have metal hurricane ties on all the framing.
I remember when hurricane Michael was hitting me - 100 year oak trees started being uprooted like twigs - I lost 18 huge oak trees total.
After the storm passed, I went and put little American flags on all the giant upended roots. Power was out for a month. My property was destroyed. Took me over a year to clean it all up.
