Don’t forget that is is a natural thing for a female (mother) cat to pick up a kitten and or correct them by grabbing them by the scruff of the neck.

It just might BE affection, but she might also be trying to assert her dominance over the kitten.

I think there is some jealousy there, too!

Thanks, CottonBall! Found my disguise!

Thank you, Starlit!
Yes, we are all here for a reason, and that little lady
swept away all that pain in the simple, beautiful thing she said to me.
The hand of God is everywhere!

We FINALLY got some drizzles or spinkles if that is what you call them. We RARELY ever get a down pour and if we do it usually only last for a few minutes. Alexa is telling me we are going to have some lightning and thunder this afternoon but I will believe it when I hear it. The temperature has dropped down considerably though.

You need to take some pictures of your place and post them. It sounds very interesting and I would like very much seeing it.

That was a great analogy, very appropriate in explaining the length of time one may need in order to forgive.

And if the person continues to abuse the process must be done over and over.

I have said many times about people that have caused me grievous mental injury that I don’t hate them.

Hate takes great energy and constant tending to, and I refuse to allow that.

But most times I want nothing to do with them, they are out of my life as much as possible.

Great post, Jemian.

I agree, LG!

I’ll add that I used to have a hard time closing my heart to people.

I truly forgave too easily.

However, lessons learned and now I have very low tolerance for any sort of users or abusers, if there’s even a difference between the two.

No grudges held, no hate felt, and I truly wish good for them.

Their good, however, will not be found in my pastures.

(Unless through prayer I understand that I should behave differently and I discern that guidance very carefully.)

My story is, basically, that my parents and my ex and my brothers and their wives teamed up against me and tried hard to destroy me. I mean “destroy”.

I had support from close friends and relatives and, mostly, God.

The untold damage caused by these people continues on after my parents’ deaths in the lives of others who have found themselves within throwing or yelling distance of this group.

After surviving this many-decade onslaught and coming to understand some of the evil behind their various strategies, I have no problem whatsoever cutting off a relationship in a split second and absolutely if there’s a real red flag. Been there, done that.

I don’t look for issues and I still genuinely care for people even if they’ve hurt me. I just don’t have them anywhere near my life or my loved ones if at all possible.

Christ commanded us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Not more than we love ourselves but as we love ourselves.

(It took me about half a century to learn that one! Lol!)

It’s interesting that so many of us here have grown stronger through extreme suffering.

Reminds me of Job.

ok, I’ll do that! Although probably not today, Cooper and I just walked down the hill to make sure the sawhorses and orange tape would stop people from driving up. Then up was the exercise. Not sure I have it in me to do twice. (Especially since it is raining)

“I have my air mattress already inflated, a foam tray with my choice of drink floating next to me, and nothing scheduled for the rest of the day.”

That sounds like a well planned day. :-) Wish I could join you.

“No, no, no! The abuser doesn’t get to set the timetable for my healing. Only God can do that. It might be instantaneous. But it might take years.”

“I hope I explained my thought well enough to be understood.”

You explained it very well Jemian. Thanks!!!

Yes - a riding mower is much more fun than a walk-behind!

Who needs exercise?!?!

OMGosh! Brought tears to my eyes.

I had the same reaction--came out of nowhere.

Especially the scenes about the Canadian truckers.

Now I want justice for all these tinhorn dictators.
