There’s no way on God’s green earth that you don’t have friends. You’re one of the brightest, kindest, most diplomatic FRiends on our thread. That cannot be faked, so we can only assume you’re even sweeter in person. Now that’s that.....not another word about it!
In reality, for me, it isn’t true. Yet, apparently, I must have an abrasive, in-person, personality. It has been extremely difficult for me to have and keep close friends.
My mother and my dad’s mother both seem to have had the same problem. After Grandma’s death, I received much of her stuff. I happened upon a notebook where there are very few entries. One entry quotes Anne Morrow Lindbergh about being alone and misunderstood. After it, Grandma writes that feels that way, too. Very poignant.
