The CDC will soon recommend annual COVID shots, much like the current annual flu shots, said Dr. Mandy Cohen, the embattled federal health agency's new director, in an interview Thursday.
President Biden picked Cohen, the former head of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services, to replace the controversy-prone Rochelle Walensky to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost a month ago despite Republicans' objections.
Asked by a Spectrum reporter if the CDC were moving toward recommending one COVID shot per year for Americans, Cohen said, “Well, we’re just on the precipice of that, so I don’t want to get ahead of where our scientists are here ... but yes, we anticipate that what COVID will become is similar to flu shots, where it's going to be: you get your annual flu shot and you get your annual COVID shot.”
"We're not quite there yet. But stay tuned: I think in the next couple of weeks to a month we're going to hear more from our experts on COVID shots. But we expect a booster coming for this fall and winter season," Cohen said. "We've got to remember: the flu is circulating, RSV [respiratory syncytial virus] is circulating and COVID is circulating. But the good news is we have vaccines and treatment for all. We just need to use these tools."
Cohen said "early to mid-September is probably when we'll have the official guidance" on COVID. "But everyone should expect in this fall time to get a COVID shot and certainly to get a flu shot..."

She can have mine too, along with the flu shot, and any other poisons they want to put in my body. And I did my bit for diversity. I didn't get the clot shots, making sure I left a spot in line for minorities.
She was green when she was doing coronavirus hearings for Governor Cooper. You would think he would have called somebody more experienced. Okay maybe not Dr. Fauci (that manipulative SOB) but you get my point.

Didn’t get the vaxx. Never get flu shots. Far as I know I didn’t get CVOID. I never get the flu either. I can get a low grade cold but that’s it.
Recommendations and guidelines aren’t rules or laws.
I was SHOCKED that so many moronic sheep followed their nonsense like obedient lemmings during Covid.
The operative word is Recommend, then it’s just another small step from there to require.

Flu shots stated effectiveness is usually between 40-60%, if you happen to believe the gov numbers. So it’s really “maybe it’s effective, maybe it’s not”. It’s a toss up at best, and who knows what, at worst.

I started getting the flu shot back in the early 90’s Taught about 120 7th graders. Never got the flu since then Funny but my first couple years of teaching I got just about every cold the kids got. By the end of my teaching career I had accumulated over 200 sick days.
They can ‘recommend’ a shot six times a day and twice on Sundays, I’m still not taking it. If I get sick, my Doctor and I will deal with the symptoms then. I doubt if those vaccines do anything to prevent getting the disease.
I’m only speaking for me. Others may chose to vax up.
That is their personal choice and I won’t sling any insults at them for it. I respect their choice. So vice-versa.
They can recommend until the cows come home. STILL not getting it.
