She says the new name means ‘lion of God.’ In Hebrew, it appears to be a typo
Kylie Jenner has changed her son’s name from Wolf to Aire (pronounced like “air”). She says it means “lion of God” in Hebrew. It doesn’t.
The child was born to Jenner and rapper Travis Scott in February 2022. “His legal name is Wolf Webster so I’m going to do Aire Webster,” she said in a video, spelling out the name as “A-I-R-E.”
“I just always wanted a name for him that had meaning and I like it’s a Hebrew name,” she said, adding: “It means lion of God.”
“Kylie, honey, you’re good at a lot of things but this is wrong,” Amy Albertson, a self-described Jewish advocate and educator, said in an Instagram reel posted over the weekend. “Aire in Hebrew means nothing. Lion of God is the name Ariel: Ari-el, lion of God.” Albertson noted that the name Aryeh means lion, “if you spelled it differently. Could be similar to Aire, but pronouncing your son’s name Aire — it means, nothing, sorry.”
Sarah Bunin Benor, vice provost and professor of contemporary Jewish studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, confirmed in an email to the Forward that Ariel means “lion of God” and Aryeh means “lion,” but that Aire is not a Hebrew name. “It’s possible that she thought Aire was a variant,” Benor said.
Benor referred to a citation from the website behindthename.com in which the name Aire is described as an Estonian, Sami or Japanese name.
In a different video clip, Jenner says the name “literally puts the ‘aire’ in billionaire,” and that the child’s nicknames include “Air Bear” and “02” (meaning oxygen). Her daughter is named Stormi, and she noted that there’s “no Stormi without Aire.” She added that she’d name her next child “Breezy.”
Jenner, 25 and the founder of Kylie Cosmetics, has been famous since she was featured as a little girl on the TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She is a sister to Kendall Jenner and half-sister to Rob, Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian through her mother Kris Jenner. She has more than 50 million followers on TikTok and nearly 400 million on Instagram.
One person commenting on Aire not being Hebrew brought up the antisemitic comments made by Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West, aka Ye. “You mean Kanye’s ex sister-in-law is ignorant on all things Jewish? Color me shocked!”
I can. Look at the general IQ of people who follow them
Do you honestly expect reasonable comments when you post threads about this whore and Travis Scott? Or a Meek Mill thread?
I’m saying you like trying to get people to say certain things, and then blabber about Stormfront.
Your favorite is to find an article that sounds like a typical black crime, but in the instance it’s a white person.
You like gotcha-ing people on here.
It does remind me of George Carlin’s comment during one of his specials. “Think how stupid the average American is, and then realize half are worse...”
These people aren’t exactly known for their intelligence
"My Son. My Son. I am your father, Jor-El. Your mother and I have sent you to Earth the only survivor of Krypton. As you hear this, I will have been dead many centuries, but I will reborn as Charlie Rich."
I feel sorry for Kylie’s son...His mom is an AIREhead! 🤓

Great minds think alike, but I said his mom is one.
Stupid beta simp cucks funding them.
General Sharon (sha-RON not Sharon) not the Little Mermaid.
אֲרִיאֵל
The transliteration conflates, so the name is two words linked, not just one word. As best I understand it.
17 For dogs have surrounded me; a band of evildoers has encompassed me, like a lion, my hands and feet. יז כִּֽי־סְבָב֗וּנִי כְּלָ֫בִ֥ים עֲדַ֣ת מְ֖רֵעִים הִקִּיפ֑וּנִי כָּֽ֜אֲרִ֗י יָדַ֥י וְרַגְלָֽי:
It’s just like Psalm 22, verse 17... C’ARI... Like (a) lion (the seventh word above in Hebrew, from the right, to left.) ;)

Note his footnote, which is quite more in agreement with all the others.

Stern's translation is very free, and he also has translated in his own way the Christian New Testament.

You will find a discussion of this from a Christian source.

From a more mainstream Christian source, with word by word translation and morphology. It, unlike the Brenner and Stern versions, is more detailed.

The question is not various exegeses of "lion" but "lion of God." That phrase is not represented in PS 22:17 as I read it.
Best wishes.
If someone can “choose” their gender, they could choose what a word means in a language. No problem.
Wouldn’t expect more from a very rich influencer anyway.
Please flush these people down the media memory hole.
It translates as "anointed in a thicket" or "anointed in a thornbush."
I think it is an allusion to the “anointing” of Jesus with a crown of thorns.
Jor-el...from what I read...there is no word for Jor in Hebrew. But he had a shiksa wife, Lara..no?
Shuster and Siegel were two Jewish kids infatuated by science fiction. The probably buzzed across the periodic table and chose Krypton(a real element) as the planet superman was from....and probably had the hots for a girl named Lara at school. Jor-el could be a permutation of Yahweh-el. Since Jews cannot say God’s name...they used a replacement word...Jor(pure speculation on my part...it doesn’t matter). The real problem is many young boys jumped off roofs thinking they could fly...just like young kids swallow detergent pods, cut off their genitals, do TikTok challenges today, run away from home with strangers. Some people were born to teach.
Kylie Jenner became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire at age 21. She is now 25.
