Leading the group with four points and a plus-three goal differential, the USA can advance to the Round of 16 with a win or draw against Portugal. The USA could even advance to the knockout rounds with a loss to the Portuguese but that would call for the unlikely scenario of a Vietnam win over the Netherlands with USA keeping its lead of the Dutch on goal differential.
The USA will win the group with a victory over Portugal and a loss or draw by the Netherlands against Vietnam. The Americans could also top the group with a win and a Netherlands win, provided the Dutch do not catch the USA on goal differential, which is the first tie breaker. If level on goal differential, the next tiebreaker is goals scored, followed by Fair Play points.

I think you could grab 10 random Portuguese men and Christiano Ronaldo, and they would destroy the USWNT.
But they want equal pay!!!!
GO PORTUGAL!
I hate to root against my own country - but this team has acted badly in recent years. It’s more than Megan Rapinoe - though she’s the worst offender.
You don’t have to love your country - but since you’re there representing us on the national stage, it would behoove you to at least show a modicum of respect. You haven’t done that in years.
Only five American players put their hand over their heart when the national anthem is played. Every other team in the tournament demonstrates more respect for and pride in their nation than this team that allegedly represents America. Disgraceful.
Very difficult to support this team. The Rapinoe effect is still dominant. Sad.
While not pulling in anywhere near the money.
To quote Bill Burr, “Women are so overrated.”
Even in tennis, where I can actually enjoy watching them play, they only play best of three sets in Majors.
Men work harder, provide better quality, and draw far more fans and money.
If you're a true patriot, you wouldn't support this team. But you'll continue to support other American teams because they've been patriotic from my understanding (with the possible exception of men's national basketball team with LeBron James as their captain).
It’s not great soccer especially when compared to men’s soccer, but it’s not men’s soccer.
I’ve watched quite a few of the matches, if you enjoy pure competition, between countries that really take it seriously, it’s been quite enjoyable.
This morning, Australia had to win to advance, they defeated Canada, the defending Olympic Gold Medalists 4-0, the match was played in Australia and the crowd was going crazy. Canada is now headed home having been eliminated.
The sheer joy of the Australian Team and total devastation of the Canadian team was great to see, it’s what makes sports great.
So by your standards you are saying there are five USA players that you are happy to stab in the back.
I’m praying for a Portuguese win!
hope every usa player who was disrespectful to our country gets fleas AND....food poisoning at game time.
Well, I'd settle for cases of explosive diarrhea all around.
:::yawn::: dyke traitors kicking a ball.
Lesbo soccer? ~~yawn~~
It’s not just women’s soccer. All soccer is just incredibly boring. 99.9% of the time just pointlessly kicking the ball around and NOTHING ever happens.
Stab in the back? A bit melodramatic. I blame the head of US Women’s Soccer for not setting some basic standards on the appropriate behavior while wearing the USA uniform emblazoned with the US flag. These selfish players are hurting the brand now and in the future.
Before it was aimed at Trump. Now it is directed against America. It is a reflection of the leftist ethos that wants to transform America and make it a nation of victims who despise patriotism and our values.
I have never rooted against an American team. In this case I will make an exception. They need to be humbled and humiliated. Winning has masked the fetid, rotten behavior of this ungrateful team. Go Portugal.
What’s interesting to me is that a huge percentage of little kids in America play soccer maybe from ages 4 to 10 but the sport as a whole still hasn’t made it to the mainstream.
The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.
I trust these democrat party women...lose.
