The reason that I know that we successfully landed on the Moon is because American men in the 1960’s had grit where they now rarely even have wit.
just for the sake of argument....Joe Rogan says that Sputnik was faked. That’s why the Soviets didn’t speak up. They didn’t want their fake to be publicized.....so basically NASA is another Cold War player.
Not saying that is the case, but that’s what I’ve heard speculated....lol

The LEM had a single oxygen supply shared by both astronauts.
My dad built the valves designed to shut off the oxygen to any astronaut unfortunate enough to get a hole in his suit, quickly killing him, but saving the other astronaut from suffocating along with him.
Why would they bother to fake that detail if they didn't actually go?

You could not be more wrong. Jake Paul or any astronaut could do live streams from the moon until it’s paid for. How many hours of Jake Paul doing somersaults and weightless stunts on the moon would it take to pay for it?

Each contractor and sub contractor did their job to the best of their ability—and got paid well for it.
But—at the end of the day we had to fake it because we could not make it—no contractor’s fault, just the political goals exceeded the technological reality so the politicians decided to go the false glory route.
Take a look at the command and lunar module computers—there was no way they could possibly work—and NASA knew it. That meant navigation became impossible once the communications delay from Earth kicked in.... (four seconds each way to the Moon) which in turn would mean certain death for the astronauts:

The difficult stuff for those of us who listen to the rumors (and do not believe them, but still listen) is that JFK, the 2020 elections, Covid, biden’s bribes and Sound of Freedom have shown us, clearly, that at least sometimes....a certain cabal which includes government and the shadow government....do in fact, from time to time, do incredibly evil things and do in fact lie to us.
It’s not difficult to believe, on the face of it, that a “government” (again a cabal of intel plus organized crime plus others) can kill a President, steal an election, concoct a pandemic response/fake vax plan, and leave in the White House a family who has become as rich as Trump through bribes....can do anything.
I mean with all of that, faking a moon landing seems like small potatoes.
I still believe we went to the moon. But....I also believe that NASA is as corrupt and budget hungry as any other government program and if they had to choose between lieing and failure and budget loss....they would lie. Just like everyone else in government.

I strongly recommend the book I cited in post 101.
It focuses on the political background of the Apollo program—lots of little known details of the decisions Nixon was facing.
The program was a big mess—once you master the details on exactly where the problems were everything starts to make sense.
Congress was ready to cut off NASA funding if they caught wind of the problems.
In academia they say “publish or perish”.
In NASA it was “go to the moon (or fake it) or perish”.
No, I just know the difference between science and history, on the one hand, and foolish conspiracy theories, on the other.
I would want to understand the mathematics completely before I stepped into a rocket ship. It would take some convincing.
Okay. That proves nothing one way or the other about what actually happened, though.
BTW, earth's orbital speed around the sun is not relevant at all, because the moon is also orbiting the sun at 67,000 mph. You can do all of the calculations using a geocentric frame of reference.
yes, you are correct. they could have done a fake one incase they died in transit. However I do believe that a fake would have been easily found out.
Good luck doing "weightless stunts" on the moon, because the moon has gravity of 1/6th G.
You tell me how much "streaming from the moon" would need to be done to pay for the ~2 billion dollar / flight pricetag.
