War update: 21 combat engagements recorded during the day

The offensive operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the south continues, and defenders gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers. In total, 21 combat engagements took place at the front during the day.
This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00 on Friday, July 28,
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to go on an offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, gain a foothold on the reached boundaries, fire artillery on identified enemy targets, and carry out counter-battery fight.
During the day, Ukraine’s aviation launched three strikes on enemy personnel clusters. Missile and artillery units hit eight enemy artillery pieces on firing positions, two EW systems, an ammunition depot, a fuel depot.
During the day, the enemy launched 10 airstrikes and 19 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated settlements.
In VOLYN and POLISSIA directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups.
In SIVERSHCHYNA and SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA directions, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Halahanivka and Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Iskryskivshchyna and Volfyne in Sumy region. Mortars and artillery were fired at more than 15 settlements, in particular Ivashky, Huryiv Kozachok, Udy, Strilecha, Zelene, and Okhrimivka in Kharkiv region.
In KUPYANSK direction, the enemy launched an air strike near Druzheliubivka in Kharkiv region. Kolodiazne, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Synkivka, Kyslivka in Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In LYMAN direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Hryhorivka in Donetsk region. The settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.
In BAKHMUT direction, more than 15 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora in Donetsk region.
In AVDIYIVKA direction, the enemy launched an air strike near Avdiyivka. More than 10 settlements, including Avdyiivka, Pervomayske, Karlivka in Donetsk region, were hit with artillery.
In MARYINKA direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of Maryinka. The enemy shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhaylivka, Pobieda, and Heorhiyivka in Donetsk region.
In SHAKHTARSKE direction, the occupiers shelled the settlements of Odradne, Blahodatne, Makarivka, Zelene Pole, Novodarivka in Donetsk region.
In ZAPORIZHZHIA and KHERSON directions, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops. More than 25 settlements, including Chervone, Huliaypole, Charivne, Novoandriyivka, Stepove in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Mykhaylivka, Kozatske, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Sadove in Kherson region were hit with artillery.
Against the background of the successful military operations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and due to the significant manpower losses of the invaders, the number of refusals to participate in combat operations increased in the units of the Russian occupation forces. For example, in the area of Rozivka settlement in Zaporizhzhia region, about 60 Russian servicemen from the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment of the 7th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian Federation refused to perform combat missions near the village of Staromayorske in Donetsk region. At the same time, the occupiers partially disabled their vehicles.

In the Kharkiv region’s Izium, the representatives of the Embassies of Canada, Sweden and Switzerland have paid a visit to a mass burial site of the victims of Russian armed aggression and a house, where 47 people were killed when hiding in its basement from Russia’s air attack.
This is reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
At first, foreign diplomats came to the mass burial site in the forest area on the outskirts of Izium. Here, after the town was liberated from Russian invaders, a total of 449 bodies were discovered, including 22 Ukrainian servicemen, who had died from wounds or were tortured to death by Russian occupiers.
According to Izium City Military Administration Head Valerii Marchenko, a total of 122 bodies were identified and re-buried. He also paid attention to the enemy’s caponiers set up close to the burial site, which indicate the deliberate cynicism of Russian invaders, who were hiding behind graves.
Those present honored the memory of the victims with a moment of silence.
Foreign diplomats also saw the house on Pamiati (Pershotravneva) Street, which had been destroyed by Russian bombs. Two entrances were smashed and trapped 47 people inside.
Andreas Huber, Director of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, noted that they came to Izium to see everything with their own eyes and tell in their countries how it all happened.

This person “Denys Davydov” posts positive reports exclusively on the Ukraine / Russian conflict. Who is this person and are they credible? While Russia has taken some large losses, Ukraine seems to be sucking hind tit since the start. FWIW, I’m not for either one of them but I’m for not sending any more money to anyone propping up the MIC and the cronies that benefit like Black Rock.

Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov has expressed confidence that Ukrainian forces will soon enter the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The relevant statement was made by the head of the Ukrainian intelligence in a commentary to TSN, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Budanov did not name a specific date for Crimea’s de-occupation but confirmed that it would happen “soon”.

Davydov mainly comments on changes in the front line maps, which are maintained by third party organizations and are filled out on the basis of announcements and information provided by both sides. There are several “warmappers”, aligned with both sides.
Both sides maps correspond very closely and any conflicting claims of advances, etc. are sorted out within a day or two. There is an exceptional degree if agreement between both sides in this. So if Davydov says the Ukrainians have advanced x km, or taken such and such a village, its almost certainly correct.
His other news is either from the Uke MOD or western/Uke “open source”. Sometimes from Russian MOD or pro-Russian media and internet sources.

Today was an important and good day. In the morning on the occasion of Statehood Day, I had the honor to congratulate and award our defenders. Gold Stars to Heroes of Ukraine, Crosses of Combat Merit, orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, orders For Courage... I also had the honor of presenting honored marks of distinction to combat brigades and border units. Happy that we have such warriors.

Make of the above as you will, but it is assured that this particular daily thread promotes pro-Zelensky government materials as if detailed "news" of the war between two non-NATO nations at war.
Count the channels mentioned above. Very few individuals are likely profiting -- some wildly -- through, in part, from the daily promotional thread on Free Republic.
To be somewhat balanced, some of the anti-Z YouTube videos touted in other Free Republic threads as "news" are also monetized. None of them, to my looking around, approach the sheer volume and scope of these.
