Hunter Biden's rejected plea deal puts Justice Department in hot seat

President Biden's Justice Department is facing heat over developments that transpired during Hunter Biden's first court appearance on Wednesday.

Hunter Biden's plea deal fell apart, and he pleaded "not guilty" as federal prosecutors confirmed he's still under federal investigation. The president's son was expected to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax as part of the plea deal to avoid jail time on a felony gun charge.

Critics have since set their sights on the Justice Department following the development. Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project at the Heritage Foundation, said that "something is rotten in the state of Delaware, and the judge sniffed it out today."

"We're thrilled her reasoning tracked with the arguments we laid out in our brief to the Court," Howell told Fox News Digital. "Hunter Biden won't be able to use this sweetheart plea deal as a get out of jail free card for any charges that may arise from the ongoing investigation into him. And that means that President Biden didn't get a pass either."

**SNIP**

"If the DOJ had an ethical culture, this astonishing development would result in the resignations of US Attorney Weiss, Attorney General Garland and other responsible officials (such as the US Attorneys in CA and DC who helped subvert the prosecution), Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.

"This development lends added urgency to an impeachment inquiry targeting Biden and, at least, Garland," Fitton added. "And if a special counsel isn't immediately appointed by Garland to investigate Biden, Inc., one can further presume that Garland is criminally compromised."

If the plea deal was based on a guilty plea, how then can Hunter plead not guilty?

What a load of horse dung! Hunter's gonna do no jail time and might pay a small fine.Nothing more!

After all,The Big Guy *has* assured us that he was never "in business" with Hunter.

The DOJ is doing everything they can to help Hunter out. They’ll go back and in 30 days come back with a different sweetheart deal they hope the judge will buy.

Why is no one talking about a not guilty plea means a jury trial, which means the biden crime syndicate will be fully exposed in discovery ?

President Trump is on the verge of being vindicated from having his statements about his second term was stolen . . . BY THE DEMOCRATS SPECIFICALLY TO INSTALL BIDEN/HARRIS.

Pelosi and Schumer are being measured for orange garb.

“Now some attention needs to be on the Biden atty who called the clerk’s office under a false name and had evidence removed.”

It was an attempt to have evidence removed. It didn’t work.

There is no statute of limitations for nonpayment of taxes or if the IRS suspects fraud.

That is like saying someone entered a bank and tried to rob it but failed.

Still a crime.

During the IRS whistleblower testimony, the two IRS agents repeatedly talked about 2014-2015 being past deadlines.

That’s my understanding as well. No statute of limitations for fraud. Of course there’s always a pardon.

“Still a crime.”

It is. I’m just correcting your statement so people don’t think she was successful.
They’ll probably say she went rogue, and be removed from their team, and get a slap on the wrist.

Liz, MS was found guilty of:

<><>guilty of felony charges of conspiracy to obstruct,
<><>guilty of obstruction of an agency proceeding,
<><>of making false statements to federal investigators

as you say.

She was NOT found guilty of insider trading. She lied to a FBI agent, that was what they got her on.

I think the right might be prematurely getting excited about this ruling. But, I think this will ultimately benefit the Bidens. Does anybody think any of these charges and pursuant investigations will be resolved before the 2024 elections?

Even IF Garland appointed a special prosecutor (who would most certainly as corrupt as the rest of them), there’s absolutely no chance we would see any results or reports before November 2024. And, of course, the DOJ/FBI/Treasury, et al, can continue to hide behind the “ongoing investigation” claim to prevent the HoR and the media gaining access to evidence. So, of course, all the way up to the 2024 election, we’ll hear “there’s no proof that ties Hunter to FJB” from the White House, the administration, and, of course MSM.

The ONLY hope is an immediate public impeachment inquiry to get access to the evidence. Even then, I’m sure that subpoenas will be ignored and evidence will magically disappear . . .

If she hadnt sold the stock, she would not have been in a position to commit the crimes
they prosecuted her for.....so i’d say she was amply punished for the inside stock sale.

The Hunter Biden case is prosecutorial misconduct on steroids. Everyone involved should be disbarred and jailed.

And the Mother cluckers from DOJ clucked and squawked,”Yes he is!”

What people are missing is the reason they said he was. I doubt there is a real investigation. DOJ was in a Catch 22 situation, they had to say he was under investigation because otherwise they could not use that excuse to avoid answering Congress Questions about the investigation.

If they said he was no longer under investigation then they would have to answer questions that would bury Weiss and Garland and destroy the DOJ’s credibility completely (not that it is in good shape now).

Hunter became a sacrificial lamb.

It wasn’t an attorney who made the call. It was a staffer. These attorneys know how to cover their ass.

This sweetheart deal would have allowed Hunter and Biden to get off on everything. More evil in the DOJ...
