John 1:1ff: In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Romans 10:17ff: Faith comes by hearing and that, in the hearing by the Word of God.
Hebrews 1:2ff: 2 But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son.
And finally, Luke 4:12ff “And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” ...which this “simple prayer” certainly does.
God does not change...God changes us.

Asking God to reveal himself is not putting Him to the test.
It is the cry of a human heart seeking to know the truth about God.
“ You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
He always rewards those that seek Him.
God also continues to reveal Himself through creation, through His Word, through Christ appearing in dreams to Muslims, through the witness of believers, and through drawing men to Himself.
