Sheryl Crow is stepping into the conversation being from a small town and calling out Jason Aldean after the country star was accused of promoting violence with the song “Try That in a Small Town.”
“Jason Aldean, I’m from a small town. Even people in small towns are sick of violence,” Crow tweeted mentioning his colleague. “There’s nothing small-town or American about promoting violence. You should know that better than anyone having survived a mass shooting.”
Crow continued, “This is not American or small town-like. It’s just lame.”

Jason Aldean Stops Connecticut Show After Suffering Heat Stroke Crow quoted a tweet that mentioned Aldean was in a mass shooting back in 2017 when he was performing in Las Vegas. The shooter killed 60 people and injured over 400 concertgoers.
Aldean’s music video for “Try That in a Small Town” has been removed from the CMT programming after backlash. In the video, the singer is seen performing in front of an infamous courthouse known for lynchings.
Lyrics for the song say “Cuss out a cop, spit in his face, stomp on the flag and light it up, yeah, ya think you’re tough, well, try that in a small town, see how far ya make it down the road.” In another part of the song, Aldean sings, “got a gun that my granddad gave me, they say one day they’re gonna round up, well, that shit might fly in the city, good luck.”
Aldean has denied that his song incites pro-lynching and says that “not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far.”
In his statement on Twitter, Aldean said the song “refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief. Because they were our neighbors, and that was above any differences.”
She just wants attention/relevance.
Sheryl Crow, Bawahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
nitwit extraordinaire!
No, it *ISN'T* known for lynchings without media-liar gutter trash working hard to dig up that information and shove it in everyone's face.
These people need beating. They just need to be made to understand if you start out trying to lie to people, you get a beating.
And the Country Music industry has a serious woke/coward problem. I've been reading about this elsewhere. The whole industry has moved away from reality and is now parroting the crap that Los Angeles "elites" think.
So, you didn’t read the article...
“Sheryl Crow saw her then partner Lance Armstrong receive a secret blood transfusion and later told investigators what she saw, according to a new book about the doping conspiracy.
Wheelmen: Lance Armstrong, the Tour de France and the Greatest Sports Conspiracy Ever, a new book by Wall Street Journal reporters Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O’Connell, claims that Crow witnessed Armstrong’s illicit activities aboard the cyclist’s private jet on a trip to Belgium in 2004.
The singer dated the seven-time Tour de France winner after he left his wife Kristin and were briefly engaged but split in 2006.
Rather than try to hide the transfusion from her, Armstrong was completely open about it. He trusted that Crow would have no desire to tell the press or anyone else about the team’s doping program. He explained that it was simply part of the sport - that all cyclists were doing the same thing.
Five years after the couple split, Crow was forced to revisit her time with the cyclist when federal investigators launched a criminal probe.
“Wheelmen” claims that Crow informed after Food and Drug Administration criminal investigator Jeff Novitzky gave her an agreement which would protect her as a witness from criminal prosecution.”
A blood transfusion is a medical procedure most people get when their health is bad. And most people don’t even realize it could be a form of cheating. Most people would think if your getting a transfusion, your health is bad. And he did have cancer.
Feminism is deep.
You are lame Crow.
The world has gone out to intimidate music stars who go against the tide.
For year the Rap industry has put out the most vile hate songs and these people never complained.
Let me know when she criticizes some gangsta rapper for lyrics that promote violence, crime, drugs & abuse of women.
A similar incident happens in my neck of the woods in Texas; the morons showed up at a local Walmart to start trouble and were greeted by a group of rather angry locals, bikers and veterans all heavily armed.
They took one look at that, turned around and went right back the way they came.
Oh goody. Does she still use only one square to wipe after doing her business, or was that just so much hypocritical prattling?
Or Iron Butterfly?
That was not for her, that was for the peasants.
Wasn’t gangsta rap about 25 years ago? But she could criticize Cardi B.
B-Real was white for sure
And I think I'm insulting two crows fighting, because they might have a better voice...🤓
Weird, he was never “considered white”.
Didn’t he say n***** in raps, or was that Sen Dog?…
Crow obviously didn’t listen to the lyrics and only heard what she wanted to hear. It’s a slam against the lawless leftists and anarchists and dares them to try it in a small town.
pretty sure he did drop n-bombs, but they were soft “A” ones
You are kidding me. Just read the damn article and move on.
