Just your comment made me cry.
“Yes, we owe so much to our brave fighting men.”
I have a habit of going up to soldiers and cops, any man in uniform.
The thing I do is say to them,
“Oh my gosh, I cannot believe it, today is my day to hug a solder and there you are!”
They usually smile, I get my hug and thank them for their service. Works every time.
Once at the Colorado Springs airport, there were about 10 soldiers, pulled my stunt. Worked.
Youngest granddaughter asked me if “today” was really my day. Told her I just pull that out of my hat every time I see a soldier.
LOL
I love that. Might steal it.
I usually just say, “Thank you for your service.”
I love this, Sweetie. I think you may have started something here, and you’ve been a fine example to your grandgirl.
Melian, I have often wondered how they move to the danger and the guns and almost certain injury or death. Standing at Gettysburg and overlooking the field where Pickett charged, I thought that it seemed impossible that it could be true.
There must be a supernatural Force that animates them in that hour.
