(BTW, you all know by now that I live in a very small town on an island and that sort of thing would never happen here)
I am a country music fan but that song is just not good musically in my opinion (Feel free to disagree). Nor do I approve of the sentiment.
I'm glad my small town is not near a big city and there is no road connecting us to one. I'm glad that there is NO CHANCE of anyone showing up here to take up that stupid challenge in MY town.

I have a habit of going up to soldiers and cops, any man in uniform.
The thing I do is say to them,
“Oh my gosh, I cannot believe it, today is my day to hug a solder and there you are!”
They usually smile, I get my hug and thank them for their service. Works every time.
Once at the Colorado Springs airport, there were about 10 soldiers, pulled my stunt. Worked.
Youngest granddaughter asked me if “today” was really my day. Told her I just pull that out of my hat every time I see a soldier.
LOL

I usually just say, “Thank you for your service.”
