Things to see/do -to avoid??
My aunt and uncle used to net fresh shrimp from under that bridge. This was probably the 1970’s. Last time I was there , there was a small rustic place to grab a fish sandwich etc. you could take your boat. A delightful little spot off the main highway escape. I fished for snook under the bridge . This was about 2015 or so. Now it’s grown like everything else. I’ll have to try the new place.
If your wet and wind blows, it certainly is.
Watch out for the Canadians. They are crazy.
Definitely go to the horse races.

They also do boat tours of Sarasota Bay. It is well worth it.

Gee, how could you have left out rattlesnakes. Fla is loaded with’em, One almost got me some years ago. Careful walking through tall grass.

Someday, we’ll all be a ‘Q-Tip’ - if we live long enough.
And don’t forget the Burmese Pythons, cane toads, Nile monitors and green iguanas among the many invasive species making Florida home.
And I ain’t gonna bring up the invasive plants currently taking over the Sunshine State.
