All the good shows and movies and music, have already been made. There’s enough material now to last for years.
“you could show a photo of John Wayne or Marilyn Monroe to almost any grade schooler and they’ll know who they are.”
??Not 1 in 100 would have any clue who they are.
Yeah, probably right. Maybe they'd recognize them by high school.
I forget how old I am. Kids these days couldn't recognize members of The Beatles.
Are you saying that 2006 interview is actually a deep fake?
OMG
No.
An actor’s heirs have at least as good a case for retaining image and likeness rights as Disney does, for holding on to the rights for Mickey Mouse all these years.
The rise of 4K video has already ended the "beautiful actress" forever - every pockmark, freckle, and wrinkle is right there is huge, glaring detail.
AI is now necessary to restore Hollywood's mythos, unless we want what the Left seeks: an entire industry full of Lena Dunham lookalikes. :)
You’re right about The Beatles. High schoolers I have recognize the name but have only a vague notion it was an early “rock” group.
In the future, studios might be able to make profitable deep fakes that appeal to a niche audience, especially if they don’t have to pay the actors’ heirs.
Plus, the big thing might not be feature films, but ads. Charlie Chaplin may be advertising products right now somewhere in the world, a half-century after his death and a century after he became famous. Same thing with Marilyn. People who don’t know her name and have never seen her movies recognize her image.
Now just remember, this is NOT Tom Cruise!

“People who don’t know her name and have never seen her movies recognize her image”
I can agree that even many children have seen her iconic image.
I, myself, 68 years old have never seen her in a movie.
Sure does. Belle Delphine didn't start with porn but that's where she's ended up. OnlyFans made her a multi-millionaire. And the woman I posted above (she's 33 years old, believe it or not) also has lucrative OF and PornHub accounts, yet still makes thousands a month just from her PG-rated YouTube content.
LOL! I should've known better.
These girls must spend thousands per month on all their costumes, makeup, accoutrements, and scenes. It can’t be cheap doing something new every day.
And theater makeup doesn't work because it's easily seen. I've really noticed this as well as acne on younger actors. It can be distracting in some cases.
As awesome as 4K is, this is one of the downsides.
?
I believe you were being sarcastic implying that the 2006 video was a deep fake.
Wouldn’t surprise me if someone claimed that though.
