9 The Passion Of The Christ 2004

Public perception of this movie wasn’t helped by Mel Gibson’s overt anti-Semitism, but The Passion of the Christ clearly depicts the Jewish people as the cause of Jesus Christ’s death, an unfortunate misconception that has resulted in an unknown (but certainly extremely high) number of Jewish deaths over the years.

IIRC, The Birth of a Nation is required watching in many film studies classes as it was one of the first movies featuring modern techniques taken for granted in movie making such as having a musical score, close ups, and other special effects.

Mickey Rooney did a cartoonish role of Mr Yunioshi in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” which is getting lots of woke-snowflake attention recently.

Hey Biff, it took only one click to get this:

Michael Van Dusen, Vice President, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Ya should be able to have a lot of fun with that!

My personal opinion?:

Pretty much Tarantino too for that matter. Django Unchained and Hateful 8 were both despicable and completely unwatchable IMO.

I was surprised the movie “Joe Biden with his Klan pal Senator Byrd” didn’t make the top-ten list. Oh, well. Maybe it came in at #11.

Jesus asked his Father to forgive them so anybody who blams anybody is not following Jesus in the first place. If they’re not doing that, why do they care?

‘It’s Pontius Pilate.’

actually, it is Pontius Pilatus; Pilate is the vocative case, generally used as direct address...

even names were inflected in Latin...

Reminds me of the Charlie Chan movies from decades ago. Charlie Chan was played by white actors.

But he was the hero of those movies. I recall some years ago, a cable tv channel had planned a Chan film Festival but canceled due to protests.

Huh?, It was Pontius Pilot who washed his hands.r

You want to start a fight at Church Camp? Just bring up the subject of who "killed" Jesus.

"It was the Jewish population who refused to name Jesus to be paroled." "It was Pontius Pilate who washed his hands of the matter."

The fact remains, it was OUR OWN SIN that "killed" Jesus. He was put on this Earth by the Father to DIE FOR OUR SINS, so Jesus had to die in order to have our sins forgiven. It doesn't matter how it came to be that he was put to death, it was preordained that it was going to happen from the moment of his birth.

The "who" is irrelevant. It is the "why" that we celebrate.
