A man arrested in connection with a Father's Day shooting between two cars in crime-riddled San Francisco that went on for about a mile and injured six people is not being charged by San Francisco's district attorney.
Brooke Jenkins is not, for the time being, pursuing charges against Lee Alexander Haywood, 33, who was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting.
Her office cited a need to investigate what they deemed a 'complex' shooting further and left it open that Haywood may face charges in the future.
'This is a complex investigation involving multiple crime scene locations, many witnesses as well as significant evidence that must be analyzed,' she said.
'This type of investigation takes time to complete, and we are working with SFPD to ensure that they gather all relevant evidence that we need to evaluate this case and make appropriate charging decisions.'
Gunfire broke out last Sunday along the Embarcadero - the city's eastern shoreline - at around 7 p.m. local time.
People driving in a black SUV and a white sedan began firing at each other as they went towards Pier 39, police said.
They eventually shot and injured two young girls who were riding their bicycles across the street. One had to be hospitalized.
At least three others were injured by shattered glass that had been struck by their bullets. A girl also was injured after being hit by one of the vehicles involved in the gun battle, police said.
The black SUV eventually came to a stop while the white sedan drove away, authorities said.
Police found and detained Haywood, as well as a 28-year-old woman who has not yet been identified.
Both were hospitalized from gunfire, Haywood with life-threatening injuries. The woman has since been released while Haywood remains in hospital.

Haywood was also booked on a warrant out of Contra Costa County stemming from an October 2018 incident in which he allegedly had cocaine and a loaded handgun that was concealed and unregistered.
Had they not injured the two innocent girls, I would have considered this as just a concentual gunfight and let it go at that.
They did not show a photo of the accused, but I can safely guess he is “Amish” and that they are allowed to disobey California’s gun control laws.
People who annoy us?🤔
Dirty Harry in Magnum Force (1973) killed off the vigilante cops.
Maybe they were speeding and we could write them a ticket…….
I had expected Atty Brooke Jenkins to be more of a Law and Order type, seeing as she took over for another Atty who was so easy on criminals that he was recalled from office in disgrace.
The left invents more and more BS.
In Chicago, 2 armed gangs had a daytime full on western shootout at the OK corral. The DA pressed no charges.and used the phrase Consensual Mutual Combatants
I see what you did there, clever :)
I think Mr. Haywood simply got fed up with people calling him “Jablome.”
If they were “Aim”ish the would not have missed and hit bystanders.
“ The DA pressed no charges.and used the phrase Consensual Mutual Combatants.”
So dueling is legal in Chicago?
Cool.
L
Meet the new DA, same as last one.
Sounds like Jenkins might be an MS13 sympathizer:
Jenkins grew up in Union City, California.[3] She was raised by her mother because shortly after her birth, her father had to leave the country due to his student visa status.[4] Her father is from El Salvador.[4][5] She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School.[3][6]
If the people whose loved one are harmed by these Soros puppets start striking back at them then things will change. Maybe that’s what the Democrats want in order to justify imposing martial law on the US and shut down any further elections until they can “restore law and order”.
democrats never use lawfare to attack their own soldiers in this ongoing CWII.
Yep- that was under the disgraced soft on crime Kim fox
“Sources said police sought to charge all five of the suspects in custody with murder and aggravated battery.
But on Sunday, Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Cristina Villareal told reporters that prosecutors had “determined that the evidence was insufficient to meet our burden of proof to approve felony charges,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Villareal also claimed that Chicago Police Department (CPD) officials had agreed with that decision.
She said the decision not to charge the five men was made because the people who were killed were “mutual combatants,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported........
and opted not to press charges against anyone involved despite the fact Chicago police officers had been on the scene and the mayhem was captured on video, FOX News reported”
Woops, I think the link was to another incident, not the one in traffic where she essentially, said the same stinking thing about “mutual combatants”
Imagine though if two hunters are out in the woods, and one accidently shooting the other, but instead of pleading that it was an accident because charges might be made, they plead that they were in a “mutual combative engagement” and the da decides not to prosecute as a result?
Homeowners don’t even get to plead that they were engaged in “mutual combat” when criminals break I to their homes and the owner shoots perps who were firing at them in many casesĂ
Remember, Jenkins is the tougher-on-crimw DA, who replaced Chesa Boudin, the Soros DA.
