“The CEO of OceanGate, Stockton Rush, was piloting the submersible. His bio said he graduated from UC Berkeley in 1989.”

I’m old enough to remember when UC Berkeley was considered one of the BEST schools in the country.

Yes. The navy looked into it and passed on the info to the coast guard the same day. There was just no point in revealing that to the public. And of course they knew it was almost certainly an implosion. Not really a need to confirm. But gotta act like there was some question about that. All part of the game.

Not secret since the 1960’s

The USS Scorpion nuclear sub imploded off the Azores in 1968.

The sonar listening devices on the sea floor verified it..............

Wasn’t it titanium wrapped with carbon fiber?

Pressure vessels are subject to stress each time it’s stressed. Over time failure can occur from fatigue.

How was the titanium hull assembled? Welded? That’s an issue too.

The implosion would have lit off alarms, which is a known signature all the way back from the Thresher. They knew something imploded, they knew the approximate area it occurred in.

The moment Oceangate reported publically the sub was missing the US Navy quickly put 2 and 2 together and knew that was what exploded.

Biden used it top cover his criminal son’s news activity by allowing this horrible drama to play out at the cost of taxpayer dollars.

It explains them dragging their feet about sending ships and equipment.

That told me everything I needed to know then................

The CEO of that company, Sockton Rush, piloted that craft himself. He was an arrogant, narcissistic SOB. He stated that he would simply not hire experienced “50 year old white men”. He richly deserved his Darwin award with woke cluster.

Either the carbon fiber was the fatal flaw or the 17 bolts that screwed into the titanium and into the carbon fiber.

Henry Ford was an arrogant asshole.

But he would listen to everybody....................

Maybe, but this was a composite hull, not steel, and was at 12000’ depth, so not necessarily where we normally look for and maybe not the same signature. Anyway, what would it matter? The media would still divert from the Hunter/Joe stories regardless. If not this, then something else.

Seems to me that a very expensive rescue operation was mounted for nothing. The navy could have said relax, no rush.

The force of the implosion will set off nearly the same pressure wave regardless of the materials. The materials will not determine the pressure wave beyond what depth it occurred at, ergo at what force.

After that the pressure wave resulting from the force is basically the same, it would depend more on volume and very little on materials.

When testing this at UW they had a 1/3 scale model in the pressure chamber, it failed well before the design depth, the result was Stockon destroyed every pressure sensor in the chamber from the implosion and had to replace them all.

It matters because Biden wasted precise American resources for a political cover of his son’s criminal activity. People who continue to dismiss his actions, regardless of the reason, are allowing our government to become even more corrupt.
