My guess is they are fish food, they keep on talking about “Pinging” every 30 minutes..reminds me of MH370 they heard “Pinging” too which amounted to nothing the sub probably is stuck in the wreckage of the Titanic
To: Red Badger
It had/has a lot of nothing

I thought all vessels had to be certified by the coastguard or government they are registered with.

I was rooting for a happy ending, until I saw the clip of the president saying he didn’t want to ‘hire a bunch of 50 year old white guys with military submarine experience’ - now I hope the sub, and the company disappears forever.
Go woke, go croak.

They were waiting for Home Depot to restock them

Well, those aboard volunteered, so there’s that. I wonder who is paying for the millions to send in the recovery vessels.

If the sub didn’t implode and it’s stuck down there, it’s gotta be hellish for the passengers.
Little light, not much water or food and slowly declining levels of oxygen, tight quarters with little room to move, etc.
How awful!

Hope his company is forced to pick up the tab for the S&R.

I read the same he said something like hiring a bunch 50 years old White guys Wouldn’t be inspirational. What a fool.

to further highlight some of the disconcerting facets of the submersible and OceanGate’s overall operation, including the fact that the craft—at least the one he went on—doesn’t have any kind of emergency location transmitter (ELT). What kind of ELT would be able to transmit through 13,000 feet of ocean?
the US Navy has huge land-based antennae and very low frequency systems to communicate with submarines - which at operate at hundreds of feet. Nothing even close to these depths.

One could say it’s a good training exercise for the Navy & CG.
