I never knew mealworms were chicken feed.
Always thought chicken feed was ground up corn
I'm looking at chicken in a different way now, after seeing this website.
I'm not a chicken farmer so I don't know.
I guess chickens will eat anything.

When I mow my lawn with the zero turn, it’s hilarious to watch them follow me around and catch all the fleeing insects.

Mice are chicken feed, if they’re not fast enough.

“I never knew mealworms were chicken feed.”
We used to keep mealworms in the fridge for wild birds.
Papa Wren would lead me to his brood to get the delicacies.

Bluebirds among others love dried mealworms. I keep a steady supply on hand.

If you’re suggesting this is potential people food after the “Transition” forget it. We buy them for bluebirds, mockingbirds, etc. (As bird food goes, not cheap!)

Laying mash for chickens is corn meal, distillers grains, bone meal, feather meal, (yes ground up unwanted chicken parts), soy meal, cottonseed meal, fish meal, and vitamins and minerals. My 25 egg laying chickens ate 100 pounds a week in winter. Less in summer because they free range then. Maybe 50% reduction. Once the frost comes and the ground vegetation dies back, it's back to the 100 pounds a week.
Feed costs almost always exceeded my egg revenues. But for us it was a quality thing.

BSFL—You can save some money after an initial investment, the first one is a really nice setup, I have the simple one similar to the 2nd link. The BSF isn’t the nuisance that regular flies are— the adults don’t have a mouth and adults don’t eat, only breed.they look similar to a wood wasp.

The feral chickens of Hawaii have readily adapted to the jungle. They are a mix of domestic chickens, fighting chickens, and jungle fowl. As such, they seem to be “speed running” evolution to become something else entirely.
As a species, chickens are genetically “flexible”, and are probably on a par with dogs for breed variation.

Chickens are omnivores...ever heard the old expression “[He] was on it like a chicken on a June bug?”
We fed ours everything...all kitchen scraps, fish guts, old orchard fruit, weeds, watermelon rinds, bread, dent corn and chicken feed, and scratch grains.

Nothing personal, but I’ll be glad when this article is on ‘previous pages’ status. That way, I won’t have to keep seeing the headline; “DRIED MEALWORMS 100% natural...loaded with protein, vitamins and oils!”
Ugg.

Chickens will indeed eat anything.
Including other chickens.
