Why I Oppose the Censure and Fine of Adam Schiff Congressman Tom McClintock - June 14, 2023 The Russia collusion hoax is the single dirtiest political trick in the history of American politics. We now know that it was entirely concocted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and ruthlessly used by partisans in the FBI to affect the 2016 election and then to undermine the legitimately elected president of the United States.
Mr. Schiff’s active role in promoting this hoax is disgraceful and damning.

Tom McClintock knows that Adam Shitt was accusing Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors, treason and an enemy of the state. This could have gotten Trump executed. Free speech my ass.
What would Tom McClintock have to say if Adam Shitt gave a press conference to accuse McClintock of raping a 5 year old child? Or of selling nuclear secrets to Russia? We know the answer. /spit
Inserting fabricated false documents into the Congressional Record is not “error of opinion.” Another feckless critter exposes himself.
Of all the terrible things I have heard our elected politicians say, there is something about this that illustrates to me the rot to the core of our system, and fills me with anger, sadness, and dread.
Anger for obvious reasons.
Sadness because it, for the first time, really drove home the nail, that the country I love really is rotten to the core, and can never be revived.
And dread, because if my sadness is justified, we have a real fight in front of us, and there is going to be an end to all we have known, in the way these kinds of things have always progressed, with death, suffering, misery, starvation, poverty, privation, and tribalism all in turn before we will ever come out on the other side, if we ever do.
I can support opposing a fine. Congress should not be in the business of fining its members. That is not a legislative function and we can all sow how that will be abused.
Censure however? That is another matter. Schiff absolutely should be censured.
...and the thing is, 10 years ago, McClintock would have voted with the conservatives.
Now, he’s either compromised, or is such an airhead that he really thinks that he can create a “New Tone” in the Democrats, by channeling Bush Jr.
“ This guy hasn’t done shit in the house except talk about getting along with eachother. My opinion is either he is a wussy or a really good rino.”
You can’t strike compromise with evil. The sooner Republicans learn that and act accordingly, the better.
“The entire purpose of this Capitol is for the people’s representatives to freely debate the issues that affect the nation’s welfare. Except for the simple rules that promote civility in that debate, no one should be censored for errors of opinion or fact.”
Hey Tom, if you do not “freely debate” the issues honestly, and if you debate with foreknowledge that you are acting mendaciously, is that the civility that you approve of? Frankly, your apologia stinks.
The GOP was actively part of the 2020 steal and will continue to be part of the work to keep Trump out of office, and will protect those who helped remove him..
Why so many seem determined to believe the establishment is controlling both parties is beyond me.
Establishment Republicans are just as much a part of the problem
As any Democrat.
Until folks wake up to that fact, nothing will change.
McClintock is an empty suit. He’s also a fool.
Schiff gave aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.
In opposing the censure and fine McClintock joins with Schiff.
Two hundred years ago, this would have led to widespread shooting by now. Today, everyone just sits home kvetching about how the representative is a squish with no fight in him.
He certainly is representative.
“The question before us is whether a member of Congress should be censored and fined for speech, even outlandish speech, during the public policy debate.”
No, the question before us is whether a member of Congress should be censored and fined for egregious lies and deception, under color of law, claiming secret knowledge due to his committee membership, during the political persecution and trial of a president.
McClintock is either stupid or compromised.
“The question before us is whether a member of Congress should be censored and fined for speech...”

What Adam Schiff did wasn’t simply to speak.
Sadly the RINOs are well aware that the dems WILL NOT give up power anytime soon (probably not in my lifetime; I’m a 62 yr old granny). They want to stay in the “good graces” of the demonrats. Election rigging will continue by the dems. ANY candidate who espouses MAGA/Conservative thought will be assimilated or evaporated.
“Boy, are YOU off track!”
Everything you cited points to a loser of almost everything he has tried. With Tom McClintock in Congress we don’t need Democrats, that is obvious.
First of all, he was born in New York and fled to California and lost races until he managed to get into the House.
Just like all the other losers, McCarthy, McConnell and McDaniel, they talk a good game but when it comes to fighting for the Republicans they chicken out and give everybody a snow job about how honorable and righteous they are.
I will stay on my track and watch all the wimps in the Republican party, of which there are many, derail the entire party in 2024.
That is how I see it.
McClintock is one of three things:
THERE IS NO FOURTH OPTION.
“whether a member of Congress should be censored...”
Did McClintock really write “censored” instead of “censured”? Who does he think he is, illiterate Maxine Waters?
As a mother, and later a prison guard, “reward good behavior but punish bad behavior” has always worked for me.
Can’t be highlighting the fact that $16 million is chump change for most of congress
