There is no exchange of free ideas when people are called names, even when whispered. “Long live the queen”, your double entendre (oooh good one SW!!) was not meant for Biden, it was meant for RN. The other insult was “sheepherder” like that’s a bad thing. Christ is our shepherd. So, maybe the person who called RN a sheepherder was actually not insulting but complimenting RN. However, I doubt it.

This isn’t GAB, there really isn’t free speech on FR. If you and your friends (please talk amongst yourselves, you tire me) don’t like that then leave. Don’t let the door hit your bums on the way out. You all aren’t interested in a free exhange of ideas, only temper tantrums and veiled insults.
True free speech, which is on GAB, not on FR, is where you can say racial slurs, curse words, and outright threaten people. But here, there is a modicum of decorum. And I don’t think that means, when you walk down the junior high hallway, you poke a stick up their bum or follow them with taunts.
You are only fooling yourself if you think FR is bastion of free speech. It’s not. We agreed to that when we all signed up for an account.

Such is not the more general, established pattern. There has been censoring. Have you just not been around long enough to have seen it? No, that's not it. It's happened even in the short time you've been here. I've been so "asked [to move certain topics,]" to festival or consider starting a whole new thread, and when I didn't delete my own post (as if I could), it was done for me. So it's not right to suggest censoring hasn't been actively a part of the mix here.
Regular readers see such things and the (actual) pattern becomes baked into "the rules." (We've been told, you know, so now I've been unfairly painted into a negative-person corner simply for ever-again acting to share what some people would want to know, even as some others could have "just moved along" without exacting censorship.) In my case, I don't believe the chance of a lawsuit was ever increased, but some government folks' concerns may have been riled, which I used to think was received as a good thing in these threads.
Though I've contributed money in four figures to FR, some areas in which I have an unusual amount of experience are nonetheless off limits. As with Facebook posts that get censored, I'm left with the overriding sense that I get kicked to the curb only because of my topics. The hot button seems to be merely that go-to knee-jerk "Conspiracy Theorist!" epithet that goes with certain taboo subjects. Take mentioning inconvenient 9/11 facts, just for example, even as in the real world, these topics gain increasing acceptance. (Think of the more complete full Titanic story (at odds with Hollywood's treatments) vis-à-vis Jeckyll island and Federal Reserve, and the general populations' changing understanding of the 1/6 Fedsurrection as more facts have been exposed.)
How do we look to lurker types when we display staunch anti-red-pill responses, even as we might try to red-pill liberals?
Many good people have felt the sting of censorship here despite contributing here and to FR mightily over the years. Many long-in-good-standing, quality FR posters have at certain junctures felt unwelcome and forced to leave by FR PTB wielding personal attacks.
Some limitations have arisen because lawsuits. It's reasonable to find workarounds in such cases. Other topics are restricted apparently due to mods or platform owners' very personal preferences as they seemingly protect their friends or criticize those they apparently have simply grown to dislike through back-and-forth posts or Freepmail.
In this time of Industrial Complex of AI-assisted Censorship, FR has an opportunity to distinguish itself as it might avoid the cancer affecting other alternative news sites, not play right along with surprisingly similar activity. As the world has seen resoundingly through the reactions of hundreds of millions of participants at US-taxpayer-funded Lifelog/Facebook and other social media's censorship, FR is less true to its ideals by mod-enforced, petty behaviors involving censorship. Sock puppets' piling on, occasionally with misrepresentations, isn't pretty, either, to wit.
