I agree - the work comes from having to spend all of your energy pretending you are somebody you are not. Be worthy - but never be fake.

Marriage can involve idolatry
I hate the expression “happy wife happy life”. It is a cynical view of marriage whereby a man should just swallow his pride and tell his wife she is right about everything. That may keep the marriage together but it will be a very loveless one.
Glad you found your way to something better. I wouldn’t say as the book suggests that the first year of marriage is the hardest. It was the easiest. The first 5 years were for us. But I struggle with a mental illness and that makes things harder.
Yes I have heard of a number of horror stories in my circle of associates of husbands cheating on their wives. And this is among Christian couples.
No woman is every happy with a squish. She may be satisfied with bleeding the stupid cuck dry for the time being, but she's looking for the next, bigger boat to come by to hop the gunwales.
The man would really prefer to date their secretary.
Good point. Cucks are just making their lives miserable.
Preach it!
This is certainly going to change the way I look at the folks around me during mass! No wonder we’re so happy!
I think the reasons women aren’t happy are only in small part because of the men. They’ve been sold a big lie. The goal is to be “independent” because “they don’t need a man”. We’ve raised generations of women that believe the goal is to fulfill THEM, it’s all about what THEY want. They’re narcissists that will never be happy. Ask them what THEY bring to the table and you’ll probably get the answer “I AM the table”.
That said, men are now told they need to be “in touch with their emotions” and full of “empathy”. In reality, it just creates a formula for women to walk all over them resulting with zero respect for them.
There’s a YouTube channel called “manosphere” where this guy creates compositions of TikTok videos these women create. It’s *really* disturbing. Social media is a curse, especially TikTok and dating apps. All the women go after the top 10% of men, their “minimum standards” are absurd.
My wife and I will be celebrating our 51st Anniversary in a few weeks.
I retired January 1 and now that I’m with her all day long every day, I’m seeing little things that make me suspicious. I’m not sure if this, but these signs are making me suspect that she may be the one.
You can blame feminism for that. In the long run, equal rights will not work in a society. Time to get rid of the 19th amendment. But since we are not going to do that, the whole thing is going to crash. I think it's all happening in slow motion so we have a little bit of time, hopefully.
“But if you are committed to making it work, then nothing can stop you!”
How about the behavior and attitude of the other person, can that stop you
