Our Aussie DIL and grandkids definitely have more of a British accent.
It has rubbed off on son too so he now has the same accent.
You sure can tell what part of the US a person is from by how they sound.
I was born in Idaho and raised in WA and people think I am from the South because of the way I pronounce my words.
Sheriff is (Shareif). Onion is (unyoung) and Creek is (Crick).
My kids tease me a lot because of it.
