Little side note. A few years ago my DIL found a little penguin (they named Harold) on one of their camping trips so they take him with now wherever they go on vacation. Harold made the jump with her son. :-)
Holding Harold in his hand
Take a closer look at the images on the out house. Lol :-) Harold is standing on a minature replica of the barricades the Germans had put up so the American Troops could not get through. No wonder so many were killed. :-(
What a wonderful honor for your DIL’s son and a beautiful memory for your son and DIL.
Thank you for sharing with us.
Wow, what an honor!!
That must have brought up a whole host of feelings, especially if someone else in your family was in World War II. And especially d-day.
How wonderful, for your DIL, son and their son!
What an honor and what a great memory, for all.
And, Harold was there!
Harold reminds me of Kilroy or Flat Stanley (do y’all remember Flat Stanley? Kids/families would take him, everywhere, and take pics with him, on their travels?)
Love these pics. They are awesome and thank you for sharing.
Sweet and Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great story,Spunky.
I hope Harold got his Airborne wings!
Cute Spunky, I need a penguin or something.
