(May 25, 2023) — The biography in the 1991 pamphlet published by the Acton and Dystel literary agency promoting Obama’s 1991 book “Journeys in Black and White” stated Barack Obama “was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii”. Said early life details are always provided by the author to his agent. The Obama biography in subsequent editions of the pamphlets (with various life accomplishment updates) continued to say he was “born in Kenya” for 17 years until Obama entered the race for President and his backers and enabling media started the “clean up ” and online purge of his previous self-promoting early life-narrative statements. Then it was changed to remove the born in Kenya statement. Citizenship case law per se is inapposite.
NBC is a constitutional term that does not sound in statutory law or any case law construing mere statutory provisions.
At this point, only original meaning jurisprudence at the SCOTUS level can unravel this Gordian knot.

The Constitution says Natural Born, but it doesn't have a foot note saying "and by natural born we mean...yada yada yada".

Moreover, by the rule of statutory construction: ‘Citizens of the United States from birth’ (CaB) is not synonymous with Art. II, I, Cl. 5 natural born citizens (nbC).
Usually, a general clause (i.e., Citizens of the United States at birth — 14th Amendment) can not govern a specific clause (i.e., No Person except a natural born Citizen — Art. II, I, Cl. 5) unless Congress has stated explicitly via its constitutional authority that “all citizens at birth are natural born citizens” — which, in, and of itself, would be unconstitutional, as positive law cannot create natural law — the court MUST give each clause a separate legal effect. Simply put: “While all natural born citizens are Citizens of the United States at birth, statutory Citizens of the United States at birth are not natural Citizens of the United States by birth. As such, neither Tulsi Gabbard, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, nor Elon Musk (just in case) is eligible to hold the office of the presidency or the vice presidency of the United States.

I suspect that he exaggerated back when he was trying to get into college and later tried to get published. Either to get a better admissions deal to college as a foreign student, and-or make his “American journey” sound more interesting to agents and publishers.

He also might believe ‘the truth’ is whatever is convenient at the moment. And might also be arrogant enough to believe whatever he proclaims as truth will not be questioned.
McCain was undoubtedly a US citizen at birth, and eligible to serve. The exact place of his birth was legally irrelevant. Obama was not a US citizen at birth, and I doubt that he has ever become a US citizen.
