Police arrested a 15-year-old student after he allegedly brought an AR-15 and ammunition to a Phoenix high school on Friday, authorities said.
The student is facing "serious felony charges" after allegedly bringing the semi-automatic rifle — the weapon behind a dozen of the 21 deadliest mass shootings in the U.S. since 2006 — to Bostrom High School, where he was arrested in the main office around 1 p.m. on Friday, according to a news release from the Phoenix Police Department.
Authorities also allegedly found more ammunition in the student's backpack and lunch box, according to the police department.
School officials alerted police after "others on campus" told them "that the student may have a gun," Donna Rossi, director of communications for the Phoenix police, told NBC News.
Administrators received the alert about the possible weapon on campus during the lunch time at the school, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Union High School District said in a statement.
The school went into a lockdown "as soon as school officials were notified of the possible gun on campus," Rossi added.
School officials looking into the allegation of the possible weapon "discovered the report was accurate and local authorities intervened and confiscated the weapon," the statement from the school district said.

When Connecticut all but outlawed AR-15s a few years ago, I got rid of mine (rather than register it).
I then bought an M1 Garand - .30-06, longer range and greater stopping power that my .556 AR-15. And is an actual military assault rifle (1943 production), and can put almost as many rounds down-range nearly as fast as an AR.
Perfectly legal and OK in my Libtard state, because it doesn't "look" scary to the morons in Hartford.
I wonder why we never hear about all the handguns schools must surely confiscate from the nations inner city yutes on a daily basis.
Lefties are morons!
“...you’re still thinking Kyle Rittenhouse was guilty?”
When an underage youth goes into a riot area, with a firearm, and is responsible for the killing of two people and the wounding of another as he pulled the trigger on all three, and totally walks, why do we have laws?
There are some interesting facts about the case that make it hard to go the way they did and a couple of questionable calls made that greased the way.
An example is the gun. There were witnesses that stated the gun Rittenhouse carried into the area was the killing and wounding weapon. It was in his possession at all times thus was never taken from him. The two people he killed were unarmed. And there is no record in the court case of the barrel length which is what got him off by throwing out the gun that was the weapon used that killed. The current wording of the law seems clear: “Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.” A lead-in paragraph defines dangerous weapon as several things, including “any firearm, loaded or unloaded.” That’s for possession, not killing. And as an after thought, that particular gun has been destroyed.
There has been a lot of talk about stand your ground laws in many places in the US. But he had entered a riot zone, with a weapon, was never under fire from another weapon, and his gun, always in his possession was the weapon that killed two unarmed people. This was not his doorstep.
Another interesting thing is the man who bought an AR-15-style rifle for Kyle Rittenhouse pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in a deal with prosecutors that allows him to avoid prison. He provided state’s evidence.
Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder accepted Dominick Black’s plea during a six-minute hearing. Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger dropped two felony counts of intent to deliver a dangerous weapon to a minor as part of the deal. So if it was a dangerous weapon, and the guy who gave it to Rittenhouse was arrested on felony counts for it’s provide to Rittenhouse, then how does Rittenhouse walk with nothing charged and how can a dangerous weapon be thrown out of a court action when it was the killing device?
A lot of loose ends and witnesses that apparently had no bearing on the case as they identified Rittenhouse with the weapon, neither of the people he killed were armed, and he had previously lied about being a trained medic coming in the riot area to “help” people. He was not protecting any particular business as the shootings and chases were blocks apart. So what was a 17 year old kid, doing there period with a weapon at all? He had no business there anyway. This is why gangs use minors to do their crimes.

“You got an issue with Kyle?”
Nope, not him. Don’t know him. But I do have an issue with many of the actions taken during the case as it offers opportunities for minors to possess weapons and even kill someone and walk. Me and mine walk those streets also. And he was convicted of nothing while two people died because he was in a place he shouldn’t have been armed with a weapon given to him by someone who had to plea bargain out of felony gun charges. Doesn’t make sense and it opens a can worms.

“Only a complete ignoramus would make a comparison between this wannabe school shooter and Kyle Rittenhouse.”
“The student is facing “serious felony charges” after allegedly bringing the semi-automatic rifle — the weapon behind a dozen of the 21 deadliest mass shootings in the U.S. since 2006 — to Bostrom High School, where he was arrested in the main office around 1 p.m. on Friday, according to a news release from the Phoenix Police Department.”
Rittenhouse took a weapon into a riot zone and ended up killing two people with it. The student took the weapon he had and ammo into a school setting and didn’t use it. Yet he’s arrested for felony charges for possession while Rittenhouse walked after killing two unarmed people.
It is a simple comparison for almost anyone. Some make it harder to determine the scenario. Sorry you volunteered to be that type. Does that make you a volunteered ignoramus, too? Welcome to the club.

“sneaking a rifle into school. Probably not an easy thing to do these days.”
Back when America was a free country, 12-year-olds could go to a store and buy guns. And take them to school (but usually didn’t).
Of course, then the family was intact. Fathers oozed with toxic masculinity, and provided for the family. Mothers were HOME raising the children. Sundays were for church — no questions asked.
It was rare for kids to go on shooting sprees. (I never heard of it, actually). Abortion was rare. If a couple got “in trouble”, it was an embarrassment; now they’re worshipped and catered to.
It’s all about parenting and how they’ve fallen in to Godlessness.
I’ve never seen any rifle inflict damage on someone unless it was used to beat someone.
“Me and mine walk those streets also.”
If “me and mine” are walking the streets and are threatened by thugs, I’m praying to God for Kyle to be there.
“he was convicted of nothing while two people died because he was in a place he shouldn’t have been”
1. They weren’t “people”; they were animals who happily would kill you and yours in a skinny minute.
2. He was “in a place” he had every right to be, trying to protect lives. Which he did.
“it offers opportunities for minors to possess weapons and even kill someone and walk.”
Back when minors legally could buy and possess weapons, these situations didn’t occur. Instead of changing laws, change hearts.
Good grief. It’s pathetic how many wusses show up on FR.
Maybe a sad tranny?
It does not fit the agenda. So nobody talks about it.
In 1966 a second grader of my acquaintance brought in a live .50 round. Except for we who ooohhhd and ahhhd over it no one cared.
I’m calling BS on this whole story.
“...missing some content, eh?”
Alright, let me toss in some content. Rittenhouse shot and killed two unarmed people. The student never fired the weapon, he just had it. Rittenhouse did no jail time and had the felony part tossed out with the gun even though it killed someone whether it’s the right length or not and he wasn’t using it for hunting. And the guy that bought the gun copped a deal to get out of felony charges himself. The student if facing serious felony charges.
Hope that helped.

When an irrelevantly aged citizen can't respond to a request from a tax-paying property owner to guard his livelihood with the instrumentation needed to enjoy his right to self-defense, why do we have a Second Amendment?
The two people he killed were unarmed.
One was armed with a skateboard, with which he had been beating people (Antifa regularly get away with beating people with skateboards just as effectively as could with baseball bats). In fact, he had been beating Rittenhouse and trying to acquire his firearm. The other, who had actually been ordered by his Antifa handler to go kill Rittenhouse, was also shot while attempting to arm himself with Kyle's gun. Since you don't like the idea of people in "riot areas" being armed, you'll be relieved to learn that they were thwarted. Both of these people had violent criminal records, and one was a registered sex offender. Good thing Kyle kept them from getting a gun.
Gaige Grosskreutz, who didn't die, was armed with a pistol, and all witness testimony (even his own) confirms that he was menacing Rittenhouse with it.
“I’m praying to God for Kyle to be there”
Joseph Rosenbaum crossed paths with Rittenhouse in a used-car lot as Rittenhouse brandished an AR-15-style rifle. Rosenbaum, meanwhile, was unarmed and carried a plastic bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, deodorant and some papers.
According to Rittenhouse’s lawyers, Rosenbaum approached Rittenhouse and attempted to “engage” him. Afraid, Rittenhouse took off running and Rosenbaum gave chase. Videos of the incident show that Rosenbaum eventually threw the plastic bag he was carrying at Rittenhouse, who responded by firing four shots at the man. The bag was gone and then Rittenhouse opened fire. Overkill and bad judgement by Rittenhouse.
When Rittenhouse panicked and set off running away from the scene of the fatal shooting, toward a police line, several protesters who believed Rittenhouse was an active shooter began chasing after him. Anthony Huber was among them. Huber eventually caught up to Rittenhouse and tried to stop him by hitting him with a skateboard. But the single blow was not enough to bring Rittenhouse down. Within seconds of the tussle, Rittenhouse fired a single fatal shot into Huber, who can be seen staggering away, then collapsing onto the ground, in video footage of the incident. If Rittenhouse had not been there and not had the gun he had already used to kill someone, none of this would have happened.
“He was “in a place” he had every right to be, trying to protect lives.”
Who did he save? All he did was kill two people and wound a third. And having the right (privilege) to be there and being smart enough to stay out and let the police handle it is two reasons he shouldn’t have been there. This is why they call them minors.
“They weren’t “people”; they were animals who happily would kill you and yours in a skinny minute”
Please tell me what the “animals” he killed did to anyone? The first man shot and killed by Kyle Rittenhouse on the streets of Kenosha, Rosenbaum, was acting “belligerently” that night but did not appear to pose a serious threat to anyone, a witness testified Friday at Rittenhouse’s murder trial. Huber tried to protect the people around him including his girlfriend. Defense attorney Mark Richards said that Huber’s “other hand goes for the gun” in Rittenhouse’s hand. Richards said that Huber has his hand “on the gun going for Mr. Rittenhouse” when he is shot. There was no DNA from Huber on the gun. Fact or fiction?
We don’t need to give children guns in an unsupervised situation so they can cap someone in an ego trip and the fear that the child got in over his head. Two people died because he was there and was questionably armed. I don’t believe we need more of them on the street. We already have enough minor aged people from gangs out there with guns now.

CHAT BOT much?
Nice reply to an idiot.
“CHAT BOT much?”
Never went there. When I’m looking for something to learn I try to go to the source like police records, autopsies, and other sources the general public can’t get to. And the media is normally a toss up.
