This one claims her mother's starting salary as a bank teller in 1980 was $36,000/year.

I remember that time and $300 a week was more like it.

Yep. Got out os college in 78 and started entry level programming at $6.75 per hour. I thought that was a fortune until Jimmy Carter started his crap.

My husband worked at a bank in the late 70s into 1980 as a collector and made $105 a week. He says this girl’s figures are false.

As a first year resident (after graduating med school) I made $21,000 in 1986. for working around 100 hours per week

I can pretty much concur with this. I was not a baby boomer (born just before the war) but in my best days never made the kind of money that is generally paid nowadays. I was a trained & skilled tradesman & my best year was about $34000. My beginning was a lot less & my worst years ( some were AFTER the time I made $34000)....well, we might not even want to talk about. Never went to college. Worked about 50 years in my trade.
