Bud Light's hangover from hell: Sales figures for America's once-favorite beer reveal how EVERY region in U.S. has turned its back since the Dylan Mulvaney tie-up

New figures reveal that Bud Light sales have plummeted in every US region in the wake of their disastrous partnership with Dylan Mulvaney.

America's flagship beer brand has been sent into a steep decline after they used the controversial trans influencer, 26, to promote the beverage.

Data from Beer Business Daily showed that the US's number one brand has fallen in every region of the country.

Sales in the Rocky Mountains dipped the most significantly, down by 29 percent, with the South Atlantic, West North Central and East South Central all dropping 25 percent.

The Tumbleweed, a cowboy bar in Wyoming – in the Rocky Mountains region – ditched Bud Light after the controversy – instead plumping for Guinness.

Country singer Travis Tritt, who is from Georgia, in the South Atlantic region, announced that he would be banning all Anheuser-Busch products from his tour bus over the partnership.

Locals in Marietta, Georgia, told DailyMail.com that they were switching from their usual drink of Bud Light to Coors Light, according to bartenders – who say the impact was 'immediate'.

Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis was also quick to switch from the brand, saying: 'Why would anyone drink BudLight?'

The 2024 hopeful was spotted drinking Budweiser previously, another brand under the Anheuser-Busch umbrella, but has since renounced the brand altogether and switched to drinking Guinness.

b) many stadiums and other venues have concession contracts with Budweiser, and so that’s the only thing you can buy if you go to a concert, sporting event, etc

guess they will have to break those contracts, force mejeure....

The artwork on those ads was pleasant to look at, fun to contemplate, and professionally done.
Maybe Coke realizes with a president like Wacko-Bird Uncle Joe, and with large corporations laying many people off, Americans need a strong dose of tranquility and reassurance in the guise of visual-comfort food.
Back to the drawing board, at least until the recession has receeded.

Can’t call it “force majeure” if one of the parties of the contract is entirely responsible for the event, which Anheuser-Busch is.

Yes, it is, and the real disaster for BL in all this hasn't really evidenced itself yet but will: that they've now become the focus for everything anti-Woke. That's a lot longer-standing than a beer commercial and it can't be fought.

So far no sign that management even appreciates the scope of the problem. Lying hasn't helped - the line that "we didn't intend anything political" is contradicted by their own VP of Marketing before she disappeared from the scene. Of course they did, and it was to attract a new demographic; she said so. And "It was only one post, not a campaign" is similarly untruthful - it was two paid Instagram spots by an influencer with 1.8 million followers. That's a campaign by any measure. The real problem is that BL, their parent AB, and their parent, InBev, are all deeply invested in ESG and its bastard offspring DEI and simply regard any customer divergence from their Rightthink to be illegitimate. Too bad the customers don't work for them.

“trans influencer” ... in reality, nothing more than a failed male actor PRETENDING to be a caricature of a simpering adolescent female valley girl ...

All of the stories I see are saying Bud light sales down @15-30%. With all this press and all of the negative coverage. How is it ONLY down 15-30%.

The distributors, large retailers, and restaurant chains write their purchase orders months in advance and have to take delivery.

Many buyers will submit forecasts for a season, if not the full year, and the seller has a legal footing to hold them to it. It's not as concrete an agreement as a purchase order but it does have standing if the buyer bought materials to meet it and has no one else to redirect the quantities to. (and since Budweiser trashed their brand, there is no one else to redirect the quantities to)

The buyers will fight it out with the seller as to how much discount they'll get on the invoices. I'd be surprised if the initial guaranteed sell-through was lower than 95% which means the seller (InBev) will only give full credit for 5% of what the buyer ordered that didn't sell. The other 95% is all on the buyer. For example, if I buy 100,000 cases with a 95% guaranteed sell-through, and I only sell 80,000 of them, I pay for 95,000 (eating the loss on 15,000) and the seller credits me for 5,000. What's making this worse is that credits from the seller don't mean much if customers don't want their other products.

Weeks Of Supply then become the major issue. The buyer has to receive and pay for current orders but won't write future orders because instead of eight weeks of supply they've got 52+.

In this case, since the brand is tainted, most liquidators won't even pick it up at a greatly discounted price because even they can't unload it on a charity or foreign country. It's not worth shipping cold beer long distances (hence most beer is brewed and bottled locally).

Coors also would not sell its beer east of the Mississippi. The recipe change was probably phased in around the time Coors went national.

Some years ago, Guinness changed the shape of its bottle--and I swear that what is inside doesn't taste quite as good as it did before.

Who and Where are they still getting 70-85% of the bud light business from?

The numbers are probably bogus. At my local bar, they never really sold a lot of bud light, since they have about 80 real beers on tap. I talked to the owner a couple of days ago he said that in in the past he had pretty consistently sold about 100 BL a month. Since this broke open, he's sold 4.

We need a whistleblower from inside AnBev’s HQ offices.

Public statements out of the company are all lies until proven otherwise.

Now that they are down, start kicking them harder. Accept their apology, if it sincere, after they declare bankruptcy.

The queers will "make lemonaide" (life handed 'em lemons) from the Bud Light. It will signal what they are for easier hookups.
