I admired the Queen very much, but she didn’t always ‘fix’ internal family affairs in the best way - I suspect that she may have regretted what happened with her sister, for instance.
But she ruled in tumultuous times, when values were shifting constantly; and I’m sure it wasn’t easy to always know which way to go or how to stay on top of things. Duty to her charge and commitment was her strongest drive, and changing times made it all very difficult.
Even Monarchs are human.
