Boston Red Sox fans are ditching Bud Light at Fenway Park as Dylan Mulvaney backlash leaves line for signature blue cans empty

A video showed Boston Red Sox fans avoiding Bud Light at all costs during a packed Major League Baseball game as the backlash to the Dylan Mulvaney advertisement continues.

Mulvaney, 26, posted of herself drinking Bud Light at the start of April 2023 using the hashtag #budlightpartner. She posted the content to coincide with the NCAA March Madness tournament, before joking she didn't know what sport she was promoting.

The disastrous marketing bid has seen sales for the American flagship beer plummet 26 percent, despite Anheuser-Busch reporting first-quarter earnings of $1.65billion.

Luis Tejada, a local realtor, showed a possible effect of the backlash by many conservatives against the promotion, showing a completely empty stand for the famous blue cans at Boston's Fenway Park.

'Fenway Park Bud Light stand Ghost Town!' Tejada captioned the video, which has received over 1million views on TikTok.

'Guys, this is so funny and bizarre,' he said in his thick Boston accent as The Zombies 'Time of the Season' played in the background.

'Look at that. That is the Bud Light... that is every single Bud Light stand here at Fenway Park in Boston,' he exclaimed, showing the empty countertop.

Anheuser-Busch reported first-quarter earnings of $1.65billion, which topped Wall Street expectations.

The brewer posted revenue of $14.21 billion in the period, which also beat forecasts, with the shares rising 6 percent since the beginning of the year and 12 percent in 12 months.

I was in the 99 cent Store in Tempe today, and found the following striking display.

How does revenue go up when sales are in the toilet?

Does not compute !

IOW, they’re not avoiding Anheiser-Busch. They’re avoiding Bud Light.

It doesn’t matter what’s politically correct or what people are supposed to say.

Congratulations, AB. You managed to turn Bud Lite into the “fag beer.”

Every man thinks it and every woman knows it. And no virile straight person wants to be seen with your drink in their hand.

Those numbers are for the first quarter, before the fag show started.

WOW! I figured they might end up at a dollar store but that was really quick!

I’ve been listening to youtube videos and someone emailed one of the content creators and said their brewery in St. Louis has quit producing the beer because sales has been so bad. They said usually one can smell it brewing but now you can’t. This is serious.

Despite the extreme leftward lurch in Boston, (my home town), it’s obvious that Sox fans still cling to rationality. Bravo!

And MA is as liberal as they come. I would expect massholes to support the alphabet lifestyle.

Like it or not, when guys have a choice they will pick a straight beer over a ‘trans beer’.

Bud Light will have to spend hundreds of millions buying their customers back.

Mulvaney is the perfect choice to rep a brew that’s not really a beer.

Despite the name of the store, few things there still cost 99 cents. My point was that here we are in a college town, on the eve of Cinque de Mayo, and most of the cheaper beer is selling, but the large amount of Bud Light remaining is conspicuous.

>Those numbers are for the first quarter, before the fag show started.<

Correct. The brewer sells its product to the distributors. The distributors sell to the retailer. The brewery has already been paid.

Now the back up begins. The retailers don’t want the product anymore because they have an abundance on the shelf already approaching its sell-by date.

The distributors don’t want to buy the product because they don’t have anyone to sell it to. But, they are bound by contract agreements. Let the lawfare begin.

It’s not a coincidence that Coors and Miller have seen a sales increase equal to AB’s decrease.

Mrs EC has been a long time fan of Michelob Ultra. Yesterday I told her it was an AB product. She set it down and told me never to buy anymore of it.

AB will show a bottom line hit in the second quarter.

Trump got 1,167,202 votes in Massachusetts in 2020...only a third of the total but maybe his voters are more likely to go to a baseball game than Biden’s. Trump’s total in Massachusetts is about the same as Biden’s totals in New Hampshire, Maine and Rhode Island combined.
