It’s never been funny to tell the same joke twice. If the material on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! wasn’t already stale by the time it left the host’s mouths, it certainly will be when those same episodes are looped back into rotation as production on the late-night circuit is halted following the initiation of a strike among movie and television writers.
Late-night TV took the first hit when the strike was announced on Monday evening. The Writers Guild of America West unveiled plans to go forward with the strike after the threat of doing so loomed over six weeks of negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The decision arrived via unanimous vote between their board of directors and Writers Guild of America East’s council and went into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2

I didn’t know that.
The lesser late night hosts, who are ignorant of humor, are history, never to return.
They’d probably get better ratings running reruns of old sitcoms from decades past.
Fallon, Colbert and Kimmel are just so juvenile they are unwatchable. Those silly games they play. Fallon acts like he’s about 12.
Carson reruns take me back...
My bedroom was by the master bedroom. Mom & Pops watched Carson, I could hear the monolog and then drifted off.
#23 Fallon always looks wasted.
Jerry Seinfeld had him on his ‘Comedians getting coffee’ show and Fallon had to be fed lines by Seinfeld who was trying to help him but Fallon was not funny at all as he could not deliver, same for Jon Stewart who is not funny.
I liked Craig Ferguson. Who knows if it is true, but he said numerous times that a little while after the show got started that he didn’t really need to work at it. He would show up 15 minutes before they taped it. They had a few bits that they would do, but I think they were pretty loose about things.
“It’s never been funny to tell the same joke twice.”
On an old Craig Ferguson show he had some old-time comedian on. The guy was saying back in the old days you would play a club and the people would want to hear a particular joke. So it was a lot like a singer playing the popular songs at a concert - only with jokes.
And how today you have to tell new jokes all the time. Craig said something like “Well thank God there are thousands of Indian Casinos across the country so we don’t have to learn all new jokes every night!”
Good, they aren’t funny.
