Fired Louisville cop who shot dead Breonna Taylor is hired as a DEPUTY in neighboring district and is already on active service after Kentucky voted not to remove his officer license: Mass protests planned

The former Louisville police officer who fatally shot Breonna Taylor has been hired as a deputy in a county northeast of the Kentucky city.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office confirmed the hiring of Myles Cosgrove, who was among the officers who stormed Taylor's home in a 'no-knock' raid in 2020.

The hiring has sparked outrage, with protests kicking off in the county in response.

Taylor, a black woman, was killed on March 13, 2020, by police executing a narcotics search warrant.

Cosgrove was fired from the Louisville department in January 2021 for violating use-of-force procedures and failing to use a body camera during the raid on Taylor's apartment.

But Kentucky officials voted in November not to revoke his license, meaning he could apply doe other law enforcement jobs in the state.

Robert Miller, chief deputy in Carroll County, confirmed to WLKY-TV Cosgrove was hired as a sheriff's deputy on Thursday, April 20, and he is already on active duty in the county - which is just 50 miles from Louisville.

Miller pointed to the fact none of the white officers who fired into Taylor's home were charged by a grand jury in her death.

He said the department considered Cosgrove was executing the warrant as ordered by bosses.

He added they had considered the decision by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council in November that Cosgrove could keep his peace officer certification.

The decision to hire him was based on his long-term experience as an officer and his technical skills, which the Carroll County department believes could benefit a small county sheriff's department, such as Carroll County's, Miller said.

I wish writers would learn to write proper sentences. Breanna must have been dead before the cop shot her. Lol

Killer cop finds a new place to kill people.

This pig should be getting gang raped in prison, not continuing to be gainfully employed.

Cops bust down door. Perp starts gunfight. Taylor gets caught in the cross-fire.

May or may not have been a botched raid — should never have been made into a race issue.

Fixed it.

I do wonder at how he can be hired by another law enforcement agency. If he does anything, is involved in anything, his history is fair game, will cost them in law suits.

Dead Breanna sounds like the name of a goth-rock band.

Hopefully you will be target of his rape. Police officers have an unbelievably tough job. They were executing a search warrant on a drug dealer’s apartment. Breonna Taylor was part of the DRUG CONSPIRACY—she was a “mule” who helped pick up and deliver kilos of dope. Her “boyfriend” opened fire and shot one of the cops; the cops returned fire. The cops announced their presence before they were fired upon.
So here’s the deal: If you involve yourself in a major narcotics ring, you accept risks that the rest of us do not. Your life expectancy is lower, b/c rival drug dealers may kill you, violent thugs may rob you to get your cash, or you may touch fentanyl and overdose. These cops did nothing wrong.

God Bless Kentucky! The Commonwealth knows how to deal with Ben Crump’s rent-a-riot. BTW, the protestors better think twice before coming to Carrol County. That’s Trump country and the protestors will get the January 6th treatment. No bail, lots of jail.

This was a bad shoot, period. Cops should have gone to jail over this. They execute a no-knock raid after midnight. Why? Was it a hostage situation? Was a maniac torturing a child inside? No. It was because there *might* be drugs in the apartment.

So the cops use a battering ram to break down the apartment door. Sure, they claim to have yelled ā€œpoliceā€. So what? They were in plainclothes. Any home invader can yell ā€œpoliceā€.

The guy inside shot in self-defense. That’s exactly what many of us would have done.
Oh, and no drugs were found.

These midnight swat raids are a recipe for disaster. A guy I knew years ago used a duplex he owned to grow pot. He got a call at work from someone telling him there was a problem at his home and he needed to get there as soon as possible. The cops arrested him on a bridge as he was headed home.

You make some good points.

Middle of the night raids should only be used for dire situations, such as when somebody's life might be in imminent danger, for example.

Stupid baby momma ghettopotumus jumps in front of thug boyfriend with dope and warrant while shooting at cops and catches lead. Good riddance.

They execute a no-knock raid

It was NOT a "no-knock" raid. Knocking on the door is what started her boyfriend shooting, hitting an officer. You need more info.

One thing about this ugly incident is that no one seems to agree on anything. The cops have one story. The guy inside has another. And folks who were in nearby apartments have their own versions.

Which version gets told depends on whether the writer is pro-police or not.

But I do wonder about your above statement. Let’s say the guy inside started shooting at the knock. I can’t believe the cops would have then broken the door down. It would seem more logical that they would have backed off, and called SWAT.

It makes more sense that the inside guy fired after the door was breached.

So, using a battering ram is now considered a "knock" in the police state of Amerika? Good to know.

I don’t believe that was the case. But maybe so. So I’ll grant it for now. Why then didn’t the cops back off, and wait for SWAT? Why did they instead blindly fire 32 shots into the apartment?

That’s just crazy. They could have hit a sleeping child. A police bullet could have gone through a wall, and killed some poor slob watching TV in the next apartment. It would be like blindly firing into a bus because a shot came from the bus.

Granted, inside guy fired first. But he’s not the trained professional. The cops are the trained professionals.
