Scarlett Johansson said the set of the early MCU films was like a "big sausage party."
Johansson, who played Black Widow, made the comments on an appearance on "The Goop Podcast."
Gwyneth Paltrow, who hosts the podcast, said the cast was "psyched" to have Johansson join them.
While reminiscing on her early days in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlett Johansson said she very much felt the lack of female representation.
During a recent conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow on "The Goop Podcast," Johansson, 38, reflected on her acting career as well as her journey within the Marvel franchise. Johansson played Natasha Romanoff throughout nine marvel movies, including the 2021 standalone film "Black Widow."
At the start of the Marvel franchise, she and Paltrow, who played Pepper Potts, were some of the few female characters onscreen.
Paltrow, 50, said she and the rest of the cast of "Iron Man 2" were "psyched" to have Johansson join the cast for the film, which premiered in 2010......
"I'm done," Johansson told Paltrow (at the 19:28 mark). "Chapter is over. I kind of did all that I had to do. Also coming back and playing a character again and again like that, over a decade of time, is such a unique experience."

Black Widow broke several pandemic box office records and grossed over $379 million worldwide, even with most theatres closed.
Superheroes are male. Period. The female characters are artificial uneccesary additions, like lipstick on a pig. The entire genre was created, written and developed by men with zero contribution from women. The only reason for any women at all was a sexual interest or a relative like Peter Parker’s aunt. The genre has NOTHING to do with women, so calling it a “sausage party” is like calling a bunch of housewives a “p-ssy party.” Women contribute zero to superhero tales except their T&A which is their major contribution to comic books and Hollywood anyway.
D-uh. It’s a comic book movie. I can understand if she wants to complain, but really, what did she expect?
Like Duke said, it started as a term for a gathering of fruits. How it seems to have morphed into some kind of fraternity of toxic masculinity is beyond me. Its Hollywood, I suppose there could be a lot of strangeness we dont know about going on.
