So many chemicals in daily use and in the environment are toxic and harmful. Cancer rates are much higher than they were a few generations ago.

One time, on a hot Arizona day, I put a store receipt in my pocket, between my wallet and my body. Sweat moistened the receipt and by the time I took my pants off I had a red chemical burn right where the receipt pressed against my body.

Hopefully no permanent damage -- local or systemic.
