A Chillicothe man was indicted by a Ross County Grand Jury Friday after allegedly breaking into a home and singing a song, said Todd Bost, an investigator for the Ross County Prosecutor's Office.
Donald Carey II, 28, was charged with one count of burglary, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.
On Jan. 5, officers responded to Liberty Street in reference to a disturbance. On arrival, officers met with the homeowner who indicated that they were watching TV when a man entered through their screen door, Bost said.
Then, the defendant began singing a song and refused to leave. Officers arrived on scene and secured the defendant.
Carey faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines.
Another Chillicothe man was indicted by a Ross County Grand Jury Friday after allegedly breaking into a home on Feb. 20.

Stop them! Stop them!

Stop them! Stop them!
From singing?
No, you idiot! From escaping!

Another? Is breaking into homes and singing becoming a thing in Chillicothe? Is Chillicothe Man trying to compete with Florida Man?
So-called “journalists” can’t write for beans these days. They need my old elementary school teachers to teach them how to write proper English.
Seriously now, another (probably harmless but very annoying) mentally ill person enters our prison system. :(
So the thug is now singing Jailhouse Rock I’m guessing.
Prisoners of love, blue skies above
Can’t keep our hearts in jail
Prisoners of love are turtledoves
Soon coming round with bail
Oh, you can lock us up and lose the key
But hearts in love are always free
Prisoners of love, blue skies above
‘Cause we’re still prisoners of love
Oh, you can lock us up and lose the key
But hearts in love will always be......
Prisoners of love, blue skies above
‘Cause we’re still prisoners
We’re still prisoners
We’re still prisoners of love
Oh, Give me a home ...
What song did he sing?
Details, man. Details!
Indeed, Ross County in Ohio whose county seat is Chillicothe. My stomping grounds back in the day. Alcohol, weed, and meth is a sure way to undermine society.
skip past the ad if there is one.
LOL - perfect. I remember when Rush used that song when he was talking about Ross Perot.
Was the indictment for the B&E, or for the singing?
Sounds more like mental illness to me.
Always keep your doors locked when you’re home. Always.
What song did he sing?<<<
If it turns out to be “It’s a Small World”, I hope he has his affairs in order.
There is, however, this little hint in the story:
“The homeowner told law enforcement that she was asleep and was awoken by her dogs barking.”
Jingle Bells barking version, that’s right up there as well in hanging offenses.
I went to go to work one morning years ago and there was a homeless person sleeping in the back seat of my car. I actually had the car started and was about to back out of the driveway when I saw him.
Turned out to be a distant family member on my wife's side, he had been kicked out by just about everybody in the family. Now it was our turn to kick him out.
Singing of the land of Plenty...singing to the land of Hope....
I sincerely hope so...
Somebody break into my house and start singing, he/she/it better be ready to dance too.
Where the burglars roam?
Maybe the guy should have cleaned a few windows of the house and then asked for compensation like guys do to the drivers in NYC!
