Officials added that the thieves were likely using stolen vehicles and license plates during the heists, making it even harder to track down the suspects.
With more than a dozen marijuana dispensaries operating in Santa Cruz alone, Police Deputy Chief Jon Bush said crimes against the businesses have become more common.
Wild video has captured a group of thieves making off with a half a million dollars’ worth of marijuana from a California cannabis shop.
Surveillance video outside the 3Bros marijuana warehouse on Fair Avenue in Santa Cruz shows at least four cars parked outside the business as masked robbers load the vehicles with dozens of bags of weed.
Santa Cruz police said the men used force to break into the store around 2:30 a.m. last Thursday and drove off in different directions once the job was done.
A witness told KSBW that the thieves were armed and worked so efficiently that they were in and out in less than 15 minutes.
“They were masked up, clubbed up, and I had a really hard time even making the description of the people because of the weapons I saw,” he said.
Police believe the group was also responsible for a second robbery at another cannabis store on Sunday in the city’s Harvey West Park neighborhood.

In a related story, a semi-tractor trailer load of Cheetos and Doritos was stolen in the vicinity of a happy smoke shop.
Probably more of Obama’s sons, hard at work breaking the law as usual.
Nelson Muntz: Ha ha!
From the details, my guess is the weed thieves will sell half and consume half.
And there are 12 marijuana dispensaries in Santa Cruz! And legal weed, gummies, chocolates and so on sell at high prices/ I’ll bet they even deliver to the half of Santa Cruz that are dedicated stoners. Yeah, just run up the credit cards and EBT cards.
LOL!
“... and then cleaned out the snack cake isles at nearby grocery stores.”?
Whoops, LOL!
Nothing (except a ripped off pimp spells payback like a ripped off dope dealer!

So, to be clear, probably a hate crime? Also, with twelve pot stores in the town, seems weird that there's still a n illicit market for pot.
Didn't the Beach Boys have a song like that?
Hot tip from the Officials.
I steal 2 joints in the morning,
I steal 2 joints at night,
I steal 2 joints in the afternoon
It makes me feel alright
I steal 2 joints
In times of peace
And 2 in times of war
I steal 2 joints before
I steal 2 joints
And then I steal 2 more.
Before it was legal, a guy in his twenties turned in his police report for his insurance claim after his apartment was robbed. He listed $200 worth of illegal marijuana as a loss.
Police didn’t agree.
This time he wasn’t in good hands even though he got insurance to only pay for what he needed and Flo counseled him all along.
Note: Stephanie Courtney as Flo makes $1 million a year.
Dean Winters, the Allstate mayhem injury guy averages $200-500,000 a year. He actually had serious illness and one thumb and toe amputations for gangrene and hasn’t had a pain free day in over 12 years.

More smoke signals than Liawatha.
One of those stores might be the buyer.
Or the thief
“One of those stores might be the buyer.”
I figure the weed thieves smoked half and, like you said, fenced off the rest to one of the 12 weed dispensaries in Santa Cruz. The sketchiest one. 12 so-called dispensaries??? They like their marijuana in Santa Cruz. Which is upper class as far as I know.
High crimes and misdemeanors.
The legalized thieves in Sacto now won’t get their tax extortion share of the lost sales of the weed. Or maybe they still will tax them some insidious way.
