I certainly don’t support DeSantis being silent on this. I’m certain if I were running against Trump for President, he would attack me six ways from Sunday, but I would still speak out against his possible arrest.
This is just another reason for DeSantis to stay down here and continue being a great Governor through 2026, rather than moving to Communist DC and becoming just another puppet for people who do not have the best interests of the American people in mind.
(FD: I even contacted DeSantis and asked him to speak up, via web mail on his office web site. I doubt I’ll get a response. Even good politicians are still politicians (sigh).)

My comment ‘DeSantis owes Trump nothing’ was rhetorical and meant for the DeSantis lovers who are triggered by any mention of Trump. You are correct, Trump assisted DeSantis and many many others repeatedly. DeSantis lovers refuse to acknowledge everything Trump did for the party and continues to do as a whole. By leaving the mention of Trump out of the subject, I was trying to highlight what’s more important - battling a corrupt government. ALL REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT AND FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS. As we know, they do not. They don’t even talk about MAGA.
And DeSantis lovers are just fine with the silence regardless. They can’t see the forest and focus only on a tree.
FYI I think DeSantis is a fantastic governor. If he wants to be on the nationwide stage, he cannot be silent about nationwide issues and expect to have our trust.
Agreed, everyone of them should be addressing this issue as well as many others. Trump has talked about it several times as you know.
Be fair about the subject of J6 prisoners though, aside from talking about it, what exactly can they DO about it? It would be great if politicians could force them to be released…..if you prefer a fascist country. We don’t want politicians to have that kind of power EVER! But they could investigate and talk about it - but they don’t. Only Gaetz, Greene and Trump have. The problem isn’t Trump, Gaetz and Greene….the problem is the people we lazily elect and don’t punish.
Generals don’t win wars without soldiers. We have very few soldiers. Trump never had any soldiers except us. The only power we have is voting and pressuring our representatives to do what we want. We are not doing either. If you want to blame someone, blame the voters that only complain in chat rooms but never pick up a phone.
Agreed that the majority of our party suck. They do nothing and say nothing. If you’re expecting Trump to fix everything, it can’t be done. Appreciate that Trump fights. Replace those that do nothing. Aim your anger at them and call them repeatedly.
It's called being on "offense", a concept Conservatives fail to understand time & again. The left, on the other hand, understand the concept well and use it to their advantage. The Right is ALWAYS on defense which, in politics, is the losing side every single time. David Horowitz actually even wrote a fantastic book about it back in 2000, called "The Art of Political War and Other Radical Pursuits". If you ask me, that book should be every single Conservative/Republican politico's handbook.
I said “may” not like Trump. It’s his presumed dislike for Trump that many of his defenders are using to justify his silence on the matter.

On a matter of this importance many are speaking out; governors, legislators, others who care about equal justice, and respecting American custom, tradition, and values.
Seems to me a guy, maybe running for president, or a governor of a state whose at the center of the storm, with an ex president of the United States being a resident of his state—he may want to say something about this troubling, potentially explosive event in our history. But, that’s just me.

So true. I believe I voted for Reagan and Trump to be for them but admittedly the other guy -—and gal-—also had to be defended against.
I agree with you completely about the loss of the rule of law in America. We are a banana republic.
Trump has spoken frequently in recent weeks about the detainees and has pledged to address their plight with pardons if he is re-elected.
The reason the examples I chose are not recent is because the post was a response to someone who complained that Trump is only interested in the J6 prisoners recently to advance his election campaign.
